*Mitchelle's Dinner gown.*
I walked over to our reserved table at the corner of the room. Leo had placed reservations for the both of us earlier on. The resturant was nice and classy and had a romantic feel to it. It was just the place Leo would bring me.
I pulled off my coat and placed it on my lap. I put the gift box on the floor beside my chair and placed my purse on the table.
Leo wasn't there yet. I glanced at my watch.8:05pm.
He was already five minutes late which was unusual. Leo was never late. Maybe was delayed by his mum or was having car trouble. I ordered for some orange juice while i waited.
8:45pm
I glanced at my phone every now and then to see if i had any text or missed calls from him. There were none. But i wasn't panicking yet. It wasn't that late. He'd still come. I ordered for another orange juice.
9:30pm
I called him several times but it just went straight to voicemail. I left him a few voicemails and some text messages. He still hadn't come and i was getting worried.
*****
"Leave him for me Mitchie, come with me" Shane said.
"Let's go Mitchie." Leo pulled me towards him. I glanced at Shane. There were tears in his eyes as he watched me go with Leo. His eyes pleaded with me to stay. I couldn't help my own tears. They just seemed to flow freely."Let's go." Leo opened the passenger's seat. I glanced at Shane.
"Please Mitchie." he begged. I ignored him and got into the passenger's seat.
Leo got into the driver's and zoomed off. I burst into a fit of sobs."Miss... miss" Leo tapped me.
"Miss..."
I woke up and was met by a lady who was staring down at me.
I raised my head and glanced around, trying to recall where i was.
There were chairs all raised up on various tables. A few people on uniform, just like the lady in front of me, cleaning up the place. And then i realised i was at the resturant and Leo hadn't come.
"I'm sorry Miss, but we're closed for today."
Closed?"Wh...what time is it?" I asked rubbing the drowsiness off my eyes.
"It's twelve midnight."
Twelve??I glanced at my watch. It was actually twelve. I groaned inwardly. I was never going to get a cab by this time.
I glanced at the waitress in front of me. She seemed nice. But they were packing up and were closing the place. I couldn't stay, and i couldn't ask for a ride with one of them. They probably lived few blocks away and my home was an hour's drive from here. So much for my dinner with Leo."Thanks." I said and left.
I tried calling my dad but my battery died. I was stuck in the middle of nowhere.
I decided to walk in hope to find a phone booth. The streets were quiet and lonely and pretty dark. There weren't any street lamps, but i didn't have trouble seeing. The moon provided me with enough light to see.
After walking a few blocks i finally found a phone booth.I dug out some change from my purse and was trying to find enough quaters when someone slammed into the side of the booth. I froze at the spot as two figures loomed over the door. They reeked of weed and alcohol. My chest tightened in terror as i stood there silently.
"Hello pretty." one of them slurred and tilted his head that a shaft of light coming from the flashlight the other was holding caught the first's face. It was scruffy and pock-marked, the eyes were slightly blood-shot.
