Chapter 9
July 5th 2030
[Carol's P.O.V]
It was the day after the gruesome scene that I saw yesterday.
This was getting out of control.
People were on the line here.
The d*mn Research Center better start working on a cure.
At the moment we know of only eighteen people with it. They were the fifteen people in the waiting room, and Dustin and his family. Here's the real catcher, how many of the nurses, and personnel that helped them into the operating room have the Nanovirus. It could be as much as fifty people in all, and they're constantly coming into contact with others, so, it's rising as we speak.
It's time to call an emergency meeting.
Ted, lots of nurses, and I were all in the Operating Room, trying to patch up the poor folks who were hurt from the attack on themselves.
I decided that now would be a good time to announce the issue that is plaguing this hospital.
"Everyone I have an announcement. It seems as though this is getting out of hand, and we are short-staffed, and there are too many sick and injured people suffering from the same disease. It has come to my attention, that this could grow into something exponentially devastating if the Research Center doesn't do their job and find a cure for this. I think that this is getting out of hand and we could have a pandemic in this hospital. Everyone should get a blood test, to make sure they don't have the Nanovirus."
There were murmurs from the group, I think that they don't like what I said, but it's probably true.
Ted spoke up first, "Well Carol, if what you're saying is true, then what are we going to do about it."
"I don't know Ted, but we need to think of something fast." I said.
One of the more senior nurses spoke up next, "Carol, dear, I'm glad you're taking initiative but do you really think that this hospital is going to have a pandemic on its hands?"
"Yes, I do, we've already had eighteen people attack themselves in a bloody mess, and I think that if there's more, then we're going to have to do something."
"Alright, Carol. I have seniority but, you think that this is extremely serious, then it's your call."
"Thanks." I said.
Things were going to get serious.
