[Angela's P.O.V]
--
I walked outside as the sun was just starting to creep into the sky and bath the landscape in a warm glow. There was still a light metallic stench to the air, but it wasn't as unbearable as it was in the beginning.
The city was finally starting to look like it was alive once again. Peoples' lives were starting to get back to normal. Although, with my life, I was still missing some key parts of it. I still wonder if Connor, Dustin, and Carol will ever show up.
Ted was in the hospital stitching up a few more patients who had showed up early today. I was worried about him; his dream last night had me worried because he was screaming, and swiping at the air, yelling something unintelligent. He didn't want to talk about it, but just by the look in his eyes I could still see the worry.
David had left to go back to his house and see if his wife was there. She apparently had not been immune to the disease, and had ran into a group of infected. David had told me about it and he hopes that she would come back to him. They were supposed to celebrate their anniversary a while ago, and they never got the chance.
My phone began ringing in my pocket, and I fished it out. The caller I.D read 'Connor'. Was this real life? I eagerly pressed the green glowing button and asked, "Hello?"
"Hello my name is Sabrina, and I was wondering if this was Angela?"
My face contorted strangely as I thought about why this random woman was using my husband's phone. "Yes, this is her. Why are you using my husband's phone?"
"I'm with the Safety For You Shelter in Sarahsville, North Carolina. Your husband, and son, Dustin showed up here a few hours ago. There have been many people coming into the shelter who needed medical assistance, and your husband and son have gotten that help.
"They've been helped, and they're resting and waiting for you to show up. They were a bit confused at where they were, and we noticed that with other patients. They don't really know what happened in the last week or so, they said that it's very hazy." Sabrina informed.
"Okay, I'll be there as soon as I can. Thank you very much." I responded.
"You're very welcome. Goodbye." Sabrina said.
I hung up the phone and was very excited. I would be able to see Connor and Dustin. They were okay, and that is all I could ever ask for. Now where is Carol? Sabrina did not tell me that Carol was there with Dustin and Connor.
Turning around, I walked back inside the hospital. Ted was sitting at the front desk and reading the newspaper that had been there before the disease went rampant. "Ted, I just got off the phone with Sabrina from the Safety For You Shelter in Sarahsville, Dustin and Connor are there. I sadly do not know where Carol is, Sabrina did not say anything about Carol being there."
He looked up from the newspaper and said, "That's good that you found Dustin and Connor. I don't know where Carol is either, she hasn't called me, and nobody has called me either. Maybe you three can go search for her, I have to stay here because there will probably be more people coming in for stuff."
I smiled lightly, "Okay, we'll go search. We'll be back later."
"Alright, see you later." He said.
I waved lightly and walked out to the parking lot. I pulled my keys out of my car and unlocked Connor's car. I stepped in, turned the key, and drove out of the lot. Sarahsville was about an hour away, so it shouldn't be a very long or hard drive to get there.
