[Angela's P.O.V]
July 10th 2030
The northern part of the city was practically a ghost town. There were no cars, and there was nobody on the streets, except for Connor and me in the car.
I have a feeling that we are going to find Dustin, we need to, and get him back to the Hospital so they can fix him up, and hopefully create a cure for the disease. It is really important to keep him in the hospital and have him not become part of the clan of the infected that are running rampant in the streets.
We slowly drove down Destiny Street, nice and slowly. We were constantly sweeping our heads left and right, trying to find something that could possibly lead to the location of Dustin.
There was glass, and metal littering the streets. Some of the shops were broken into, probably from the infected, and there were vehicles that were burnt out.
There was an alley-way to our left and we gazed down there. We saw a figure, maybe it was Dustin. "Connor, do you think that figure in the alley-way is Dustin?"
"I don't know Angela. It might be, it might not be. We have no way of knowing, and don't even think about getting out of the car and going to investigate." Connor responded.
He doesn't want me getting out of the car? Overprotective much? "Connor, just pull the car up to the alley-way with my side in the alleyway entrance, and let me get out and investigate."
"Angela, I said that I didn't want you going out there and investigating."
"Just let me out!" I said, raising my voice.
"Alright, but if you don't feel safe get back into the car, and we'll get away, and search somewhere else." Connor responded. He drove the car to the alley-way, and put my side into the alley-way.
I opened the door, got out, said, "I love you." Then I closed the door, and slowly approached the figure at the end of the alley-way.
I was about twenty-five feet away from the figure, and then I stepped in a puddle. D*mn.I thought. The figure's gaze locked on me, and I saw that it was not Dustin. Great just my luck. I wanted to scream a bit, but if I did that then that infected creature would come after me and I did not want that to happen. As my heart was jumping up into my brain, I slowly backed away, hoping that I could just casually leave the situation.
The figure turned towards me and started slowly approaching me. Forget the casually backing away plan. I thought. I quickly turned around and rushed towards the car. Connor opened my door from the inside, and I quickly sat in the car, and shut the door. Connor gunned it away from the alley-way in a fit of tire smoke, and noise. I looked behind, and the infected creature was still chasing after us. We kept picking up speed, and the creature got smaller and smaller in the rear-view mirror. "Angela, what happened?"
"I stepped in a puddle, and then the creature looked, at me, and I started backing slowly. Then it started approaching me, and I ran." I responded.
"I told you that you shouldn't have done that." Connor exclaimed.
"Oh well, live and learn."
"No, it's not live and learn, it's make a mistake and die. Especially in this new world that we are living in."
"Alright, sorry." I said, lowering my head.
Connor turned right down a street, and we saw a bunch of the infected raiding a store, and burning a car. Great just what we needed I thought. "Connor, stop the car." I said.
