[Carol's P.O.V]

We worked through the night to make sure Dustin lived. He made it......barely. He is a lucky kid. I can't believe it, it just seemed that he wouldn't make it.

We had to stitch him up all over his body, and we stopped the bleeding. The thing is, is that he isn't conscious, we hope he wakes up and is able to tell us what happened. We need information to add to the analysis.

It was eight-thirty in the morning, and we were tired, but we had to keep pushing, we took small rests, one person would fall asleep for a period of time, and then we'd wake them up and take a snooze, and another person would wake us up, and so on.

We kept working to save Dustin, he should live, but if something should happen we'd all be devastated; especially Angela and Connor. We're doing this for them and Dustin. We can't have them go insane.

"Hey, someone needs to get Angela and Connor's blood tested for the disease." I bellowed.

"Alright." My assistant Ted said, walking out of the room.

I walked out of the operating room, and found Angela and Connor, they were awake. "Hello, my name is Ted, and Carol wanted me to get you guys' blood tested for the disease."

"Alright." Angela answered, standing up. Connor did the same.

I guided them towards our standard check-up room, and shut the door behind them. They both sat on the table, and I prepared them for the blood drawing.

First up was Connor, I cleaned the point of injection, and sucked out the blood with the syringe, and then I gave him a band-aid. I did the same with Angela, and it was over.

They went back to their spot in the waiting area, and sat snuggled up together. I went back into the operating room, to see if anything had changed with Dustin's state.

"Hey Carol, everything is done, I got the blood drawn." I smiled.

"Okay. Did you send it to the analysis lab?" She asked.

"Yes. Margaret walked by and I handed them to her when we left the check-up room." I answered.

"Great, it should only take a day or so, maybe less. It didn't take that long for Dustin's."

"Okay. That's great, maybe we can get it back today. That would be good." I smiled.

Dustin was breathing but he was still unconscious, hopefully he's not in a coma. His condition wasn't changing so the group, which consisted of about eight people, took off their masks, and gloves and left. Carol didn't leave, but I decided that I needed a break, so I left as well, and went to the break room.

I was sitting in a chair next to Dustin in the Operating Room. I looked at him and pain stabbed my heart. It was extremely heart-breaking to see my first patient like this, in this state. It was absolutely agony.

I put my head in my hands and started to cry, it was just so sad. I wanted to see him smile, I wanted to hear his voice, I wanted to hear him laugh, or talk about sports, or something.

[Dustin's P.OV]

Oh my God, I was in pain. Pain! PAIN! It hurt, whatever it was that happened to me.
