[Angela's P.O.V]

July 10th 2030

I rushed down the stairs, not even bothering to wait for an elevator. I was worried sick, I rushed into the Testing Room, and to my luck, Carol was not in there. So, I rushed into the Operating Room, where there were multiple bodies on tables; each looking worse than the next. Each body was strapped down nice and tight. Are they going to run out of belts yet?

I met eyes with Carol, still surprised that she could see me through the suit. I walked around all the tables and finally made it to Carol. "Carol, this isn't good. When we were up in Dustin's room, h-h-he wasn't there." I stuttered.

"What do you mean he wasn't there?" Carol questioned.

"You know what I mean, it's obvious. He was not in the room." I grumbled.

"So, he escaped?" Carol slowly mumbled.

"Yes, he escaped!" I yelled, flailing my arms in the air. Everyone stopped and looked at me. Blushing, I started talking in a quieter voice. "I don't know where he is, he must have gotten out of the restraints, because they were not locked when we got up there. Anyhow, how did he get out of the hospital? Wasn't somebody watching the entrance?"

"Angela, we have cameras around the building, why don't we look at the tapes, and see if he walked out of the hospital?" Carol calmly stated.

"Alright." I simply mumbled.

"Ted, work on this patient for now, while I go check the security tapes." Carol said.

Carol put down her tools that she was using, one of which was a sewing needle, took her gloves off, and put them in the Bio-Hazard trash receptacle. Then she washed her hands, and led Connor and I out of the Operating Room, and down a hallway. We went all the way to the end of the hallway, and turned right into a room. The room was rather large, it contained a desk with a phone, and a wall that had only TV screens. The small screens, had a video feed of each hallway, and ten that were viewing the outside of the hospital.

"Alright Carol, we are here. Now where are the tapes?" I asked impatiently.

"I need to check with the security guard who always watches these screens, but he is not here at the moment. Please be patient." Carol grumbled.

We waited a few seconds, and then Carol was starting to get impatient. "Carol, I thought that you only worked at the Pediatric Center?" I asked.

"I did, but once all this stuff happened, I was advised that I was being moved up in my rank, and that I could work in the hospital. It just sort of happened, and I wasn't expecting it. See, when I got home on the day that you called, and said that Dustin was in the hospital, I had gotten a call before-hand that said I was moved up in rank and I could work in the hospital."

"Okay. That's great. I'm glad you were moved up in rank, because if you weren't then we couldn't see you, and, who knows what would happen to Dustin." I smiled.

"What is taking this security guard so stinkin' long?" Carol fumed. She rushed into the back room, and we followed.

We gasped, and saw why the security guard was taking so long.

He lay on the floor in a puddle of blood, his clothes tattered, his body having ugly lacerations. It was not a pretty sight. "Well, that explains why he never came out and talked to us." I mumbled.

"Yeah." Carol mumbled, kneeling down by the gentleman's side. "He's not breathing, and his body is cold. He's dead."

"Sh*t, is that the first person that has died from the disease?" I asked.
