9,999 ~ A 10K FanFic

Chapter Nine

10K and I walked inside hand in hand. Everyone was starring at us, "It's about time." Addy said with a bright smile on her face. I could tell I was blushing, I looked up at 10K and he was blushing too. I have no idea how we'll get out of this conversation.

The bright moon shine down on 10K and I. He had his arm slung around my shoulder as we sat on the porch steps. I gazed up at the stars, taking in the view. I looked at 10K who was starring at me, "What?" I asked with a slight laugh. "Not many beautiful things exist anymore." He said, I chuckled, "Didn't you say that before?" I asked. "Yea, but I honestly meant it about you." He said leaning in. "Oh really?" I purred leaning in closer too. We both closed our eyes leaning in to each other.

Some one cleared their throat before we touched. I jumped at the noise and 10K pulled away. We both blushed wildly. "Time for bed." Mach's voice rang out. "I-Of course." I stuttered out awkwardly. 10K grabbed my hand and we both walked inside. "Alright before you two head off to bed-" Warren began, "No funny business, we know." I chuckled out. She smiled and sent us on our way.

"I'm thinking about changing my outfit for once tomorrow." 10K called from the bath room. "Hmm that'll be interesting to see." I said "Something other than camouflage I mean." He laughed. "What? Camouflage is so last apocalypse." I joked. 10K laughed. "How do you come up with this stuff?" He asked. I sighed, "My mom said I was just witty." I responded. "Well she's right." He called from the bathroom.

"No way!" He yelled. "What?" I asked. "Just listen!" He called back. I heard the groan of pipes then the sound of water hitting a shower floor. "Holy shit!" I yelled. "Warren!" I yelled. "There on a supply run!" He called back. "This late?" I muttered to myself.

I opened the bathroom door then right away shut it. 10K had his shirt off feeling the water. "Sorry!" I yelled. "For what?" He asked opening the door. I covered my eyes with my hands, blushing. "Oh come one. Don't act like you've never seen a guy with his shirt off before." 10K reasoned. I thought about this, "Touché." I said uncovering my eyes slowly. My eyes wandered 10K's chest. "Hi." I whispered shyly. He chuckled, "Hi." 10K wrapped me in a hug. He leaned down to my ear and whispered, "You can shower first."

I jumped from his grasp, "Thanks!" I yelled grabbing a towel. I was way to excited, I knew this because when I was running into the bathroom a slipped and face planted into the floor. 10K laughed behind me. "That's no way to treat a lady." I said picking myself up. "I don't see a lady, I see a star." 10K said making his hands do a rainbow movement. I laughed and walked over to him, I placed my finger on his shoulder, "You suck at flirting." I purred. "I've noticed." He chuckled.

I laughed and pulled away. "I'm showering." I called over my shoulder. I grabbed my bag and walked into the bath room. The water was still running as I striped of my clothes. I could feel the dirt run down my skin as I stepped in the cold water. "Better than nothing." I mumbled. I reached for the left over soap and used it to scrub my body. Even after I knew the dirt from my skin was gone I still scrubbed until my skin was raw. I grabbed the shampoo and conditioner from the ledge and scrubbed it in my hair. I swear it felt like millions of fingers were massaging my head as I washed out the hair products.

I stepped out of the shower, leaving the water running for 10K. I reached into my back pack and pulled out a black tank top and a black leather jacket to match. I pulled out my ripped skinny jeans and put them on. I grabbed my purple spiked converse from my back pack and slipped them on. I walked out of the bathroom and saw that 10K wasn't there.

"Tommy!" I yelled running through the hall. A closet door swung open meeting me in the face. "Sorry." 10K whispered when he emerged from the closet. "There's people down stairs they most likely heard you so get in the closet." He whispered. I nodded my head throwing my back pack in and then throwing my bigger weapons in like my rifle, katana, and long bow. I climbed into the closet, 10K right behind me. 'Thank god Taz went with the group on their run' I thought. 10K and I huddled in the closet together. He held me and I held him.

"Oh Tommy..." A voice rang downstairs. I felt the tears stung my eyes. This could be my last moment alive. I adjusted my body so that I was able to reach my bow behind 10K. I grabbed it and knocked an arrow in the string. I pulled it back and waited. "Where are they?" One guy shouted. "I don't know? Have you checked the closets?" Another guy asked. "Uhh no." "I swear your a jackass." The man said. "No jackasses allowed." A gun shot rang out then the sound of a body dropping. The tears leaked from my eyes, how can people kill other people so easily.

10K held me as I shook. He let my hair, entangling his fingers in them. I held my bow firmly as I heard foot steps creek up the stairs. "Come out love birds." The man said right in front of the closet. The door nob turned and the door opened a tiny bit. I held my bow tighter and nuzzles into 10K more. The door opened all the way revealing a man with blonde greasy hair. He had rotten teeth and cold dead brown eyes. "There they are."

I released the hold on the arrow and it flew towards the man. It hit him in the shoulder and he cried out. "Bitch!" He screamed. 10K's eyes hardened and he grabbed his switch blade from his boot. "Call her that again, I dare you." He said holding the knife to the mans throat. "Your. A. Fucking. Bitch!" He screamed. 10K gritted his teeth but dropped the knife. "You may be a stupid idiot but you don't deserve to die." 10K said as he tied up the man. I stood from the closet and ran to 10K.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." I cried into his shirt. He turned to me and cupped my face in his hands. He wiped the tears off my cheeks, "It's not your fault." He cooed. I smiled and nuzzled my head into his chest. He turned his head towards the man and glared at him. "Are you going to shower?" I asked picking up our previous conversation. "I will when there's more people to keep and eye on him." He said sneering at the man. I smiled at him and closed my eyes, hoping I could be here forever.

(10K P.O.V)

I held Fox tight in my arms. I really did want to kill that man for what he did and said. I'll do it later when the group is back and when Fox is asleep. I honestly thought I would break her In that closet. I swear she's like a porcelain doll.

I kept my thoughts quiet and tried not to think about them to much. Fox's head whipped towards the door and she readied her bow. I swear she has the hearing of an actual Fox. I readied my rifle just in case. The front door creaked open slowly. I held my rifle up to my eye, aiming.

The door opened all the way reveling the group. We sighed in relief and put our weapons down. "What the hell is going on?" Warren questioned, putting her hands down. I looked at the guy around the corner as he struggled with his restraints. I pushed him into view with my foot. I took the towel from his mouth and he screamed. I sighed and hit him in the the with the butt of my gun.

"I see." Warren said. She walked up the steps and looked at the man. Fox nuzzles into my arm and I put it around her. I knew she was scared. Who wouldn't if a man watched you kiss? Just gross.

We addressed the situation. Warren ended up driving him to the middle of no where with a blindfold on. She still hasn't returned. Allie told everyone that the showers worked and they instantly ran to the bathrooms, well everyone except Murphy. "Why aren't you showering kid?" He asked. "I'm waiting for everyone to finish so someone can take watch." I said "What about Fox?" Murphy asked. I laughed, "She's bathing Taz." "I think she loves that dog more than you." Murphy mumbled a chuckled thinking of the thought.

I honestly didn't care of she loved Taz more, mainly because he's family, I'm not. We're not even officially dating yet. The thought popped into my head, I should ask her. I ran upstairs faster than a cheetah and then threw myself into our bedroom closing the door. I was about to barge into the bathroom door but I heard, singing? I listened through the door, it was Fox's voice but it sounded amazing. I opened the door and instantly found myself running behind the door.

Fox was bathing Taz in her undergarments. "I'm so sorry!" I yelled, I swear I was the color of a tomato. "Why are you bathing him like that?" I asked. "I don't want to get my clothes wet. She said shakily from the bathroom. Warren barged through the door. She got back fast. "What's going on? I heard yelling." She said. She looked at me behind the bathroom door and Fox somewhere in the bathroom. "You saw each other naked for the first time?" She asked. "Undergarments." Fox corrected. Warren nodded her head.

"Good luck." She said leaving the room. "No funny business!" She screamed from down the hall. I laughed.

What would I do without this group?
