9,999 ~ A 10K FanFic

Chapter Eleven

(10K P.O.V)

I paced back and forth in the kitchen waiting for Fox to awake. Her screams still echoed through my head like a voice in a valley. I looked down at her ankle. Thankfully she didn't do anything to bad to it. There was just a huge gash from when she supposedly landed on a knife, I'm surprised she didn't notice it.

I started to bite my finger nails from the stress of it all. I thought I actually stopped that habit, guess not. I leaned against the counter and ran my fingers through my hair. A breathed in and out but that didn't stop the tears from coming down my face. Warren walked into the kitchen and put her hand on my shoulder, "She'll be okay. But in the mean time you might want to see this." She said. I followed her out of the kitchen and I to the living room.

Addy looked at me then threw something sparkly at me. I fumbled with it but soon grasped it in my hands. I looked at it, it was a necklace with an A carved into it. It had diamonds which encircled the A. A ring was on the necklace which had one emerald, one ruby, one sapphire, two diamonds, and a gold band holding them together. I tunes it over and a name was carved in the back. It was worn out and had dirt in it. I focused more on it. "Allie" I said out loud. They all looked at me and nodded.

"That was Josten. We found his wallet, surprisingly he kept it on him, and it said his name." "But that doesn't explain why Fox's necklace was with him." I said. Warren handed me a slip of folded paper. I unfolded it and found it was a picture. The picture of course had Josten in it as well as a a middle aged women with black waves hair. Her sapphire eyes is what really stood out to me. Her skinny arm was slung over a young girl with the same eyes and black hair, it was cut in a different way hit it was the same hair. The girls smile was wide and bright, I recognized it. She had both her arms around a blonde boy. His chocolate brown eyes shared the same color as Jostens.

"This is her family." I said. They all nodded. I looked at the necklace again and squeezed it tighter into my hands. I shoved the picture into my pocket and walked into the kitchen. I looked over at Fox and saw her eyes twitch. I ran to her and put my free hand in hers. Her eyes fluttered open and her sapphire eyes starred into mine. Her beautiful sapphire eyes.

(Fox's P.O.V)

My eyes fluttered open and landed on 10K who was holding my hand. I sat up slowly and he helped me. The first thing I noticed was the sparkling object in his hand. He followed my gaze to it and held it up. A necklace. I examined it, it looked so familiar. Something inside my brain clicked, "I though I lost that thing when this all started." I said reaching for the necklace.

I felt the cold metal on my warm hand. A very familiar feel. "I would wear this thing everyday and never take it off." I said. "The ring was my mothers and the necklace was given to me by my real father." I finished. "Would you mind?" I asked. "Not at all." 10K said as he took the necklace from my hand. Emptiness flooded me after it left my palm. 10K went behind me and placed it around my neck and buckling it in the back.

The emptiness feeling vanished the minute it touched my chest. "We also found this." Tommy said pulling a piece of paper from his pocket. I took it from him and unfolded it. I began to tear up at the thought of my family all together again. "We weren't actually this happy." I said. "My mom was desperate and needed to get over my fathers death so she remarried. A month or so after they married he began to beat her." I said. Sorrow filled 10K's face as he wrapped my in an embrace. "I would never do that to you, never." He whispered in my ear. I smiled as a tear dripped from my face.

I pulled back and pecked his nose, "I love you." I said. "I love you too." I replied as he pecked my lips. The group walked in and Murphy made a face. "She's still alive?" He said. I drew a throwing knife from my belt and threw it. It barely grazed Murphy's face before it embedded itself in the cabinet behind him. He felt his cheek and pulled back revealing a small dot of blood. I smirked at his face as he rubbed at the spot on his cheek.

Addy was the first to run over as she wrapped me in a hug, Cassandra came over shortly after and hugged us as well. "How many times are you gonna do stupid shit and almost kill your self before we get to Calli?" Warren asked. "A lot." I laughed out.

Doc inspected my ankle and gave me a thumbs up. I slowly found my way down from the counter and onto the floor. 10K helped steady and soon let go. I took a step, or a limp. I walked around the kitchen a few times and soon I was walking as normal as I was going to get. There was still a small limp but it wasn't as bad as it was. "Alright people were gonna stay her one more night and we'll leave in the morning!" Warren said. I smiled.

The group left the kitchen and I sighed. 10K came up behind me and wrapped me in a huge hug as he picked me up and spun me around the kitchen. I giggled as I went in circles. Tommy set me down gently. "You know the sun is setting." He said. I laughed as I let him drag me to the bedroom.

He opened the window and climbed out. 10K helped me through the window and onto the roof. "Wow." I said as I looked at the sun set over the rolling hills. "Z's." 10K said. I looked down and saw about five. "I got it." I laughed. 10K handed me my bow and quiver. I drew the arrow from the quiver and knocked it into my bow. I pulled it back and shot. It passed threw two Z's heads who were right behind each other. "Nice shot Al." 10K said. "Where'd you get Al from?" I asked with a laugh. "Its a nickname." He laughed. "You know short for Allie." "Al? I quit like that." I said. 10K laughed and slung his arm around my shoulder.

"Three more." I said looking up at him. 10K smiled and pulled out his rifle. Boom! A shot rang out. "Shit forgot the silencer." He said. I laughed as he attached it. He aimed again and pulled the trigger. "Three thousand nine hundred ninety nine." Tommy muttered. He aimed again and shot. "Four thousand." I said for him. He smiled brightly. I couldn't help but laugh at his over excited smile.

Darkness flooded the valley we were in as the sun finished setting. I smiled as I looked up at the shimmering stars. "You know these stars remind me of something." 10K said looking up at the stars as well. "What?" I asked. "Your smile." He replied taking hold of my chin. I couldn't help but laugh, "What?" He asked jokingly. "Could you be anymore corny?" I said swinging my arms around his neck. "I could try." He purred as he leaned into me. "I'd like that." I said closing the distance. I closed my eyes and he closed his.

10K's tongue grazed my bottom lip which caused me to shiver. He pulled me closer so that our bodies were touching. I opened my mouth to breathe and that's when he took his chance. Our tongues fought for dominance, Tommy slowly winning. "Hey! Stop eating each others faces the Z's already do that!" A familiar voice rang out. I groaned as 10K pulled away to see who was yelling at us.

"What do you want Murphy!" 10K called down. "A, get down from the roof. And B, stop what ever your doing." Murphy said. I made my way to the edge of the roof to see what was going on. Murphy was rubbing his eyes. "Jealous eh?" I called down. Murphy glared at me so I flipped him the bird. 10K chuckled at me as Murphy walked back inside mumbling to himself.

10K took my hand in his and led me to the forested side of the roof. I looked out at the trees and gawked at the flowers. "I wish we could stay here." 10K said as we sat down. I swung my legs over the edge off he roof and let them dangle. "Yea, me too." I said fiddling with my necklace. 10K turned my face so that I was facing him. "I haven't formally asked." He said. I shyly smiled, having no idea what was going on. "Allie, Maple. Will you be my girlfriend." I smiled at the high school nonsense he still possessed.

"Of course." I said, kissing him again.
