9,999 ~ A 10K FanFic

Chapter Fifteen

The sprinkled down on my skin as I slowly opened my eyes. I was no longer in 10K's lap, but instead cuddled up right next to him. I smiled and slowly unwrapped myself. I walked over to our small food supply which consisted of canned bread, peanut butter, and peaches. We needed more food, and that was a fact.

I took out the canned bread and used our can opener to open it. I placed it on a small napkin we found and began to spread peanut butter on it. "Looks delicious." 10K's voice muttered beside me. I half jumped swinging a make shift spatula around and right into his face. "Good morning to you too." He muttered. "You need to stop sneaking up on people like that." I scolded. 10K playfully pouted which caused me to giggle. He looked down at the bread then up at me. "Oh no you don't." I said as he reached for the bread. He swiped it and took a bite. "Nooooo." I said. He chuckled and took another bite before giving it to me. "Jerk." I playfully muttered. "Not." "Am." "Not. "Am." We argued. "God were like siblings." I joked. "But we're not." 10K said, wrapping me in a warm embrace.

(Addy's P.O.V)

A few hours earlier (Like right after she tripped on the arrow)

I ran from the forest with the arrow tight in my hand. "Mach! Doc!" I screamed. Mach was the first one to reach me. His gun was raised towards the direction I came from. "What is it? Z's? People?" He asked. I shook my head and waited for Doc to reach us until I shared my findings. I held the arrow up and Doc looked like he was about to cry. "He's close." Doc said. "There's probably a town past the woods." Mach said. "I think there is." I cried. "We need to go now!" I screamed in excitement. Mach nodded his head and Doc hobbled off to tell the rest of the groups. We'll be there soon Fox, We'll be there soon.

(Fox P.O.V)

I looked over the edge of the roof looking for any Z's. "Clear." I said to 10K. He nodded and climbed down a fire escape and stopped at the ladder. I walked down the fire escape as well and strapped at the ladder. 10K smiled and hopped down the ladder. I watched him until he reached the ground. I climbed down the ladder slowly, making sure I didn't fall.

The ladder was already unstable and with the added weight it just made it worse. I was one rung away from the ground and as my second foot hit the concrete the ladder collapsed. I watched it fall as 10K pulled me away from harm. "Good thing we didn't need to go back up there." I muttered. "Yea." 10K agreed.

We had been walking for what seemed like hours. "What if they stayed back to look for us and we're just walking away from them?" I asked. 10K seemed to think about this and replied, "That could be the case, we rest in a building for a couple days and if they don't show up we move on." "That sounds perfect." I said walking to a nearby building. I opened the door and was instantly tackled to the ground by a Z.

I struggled against it but my arms weren't strong enough. I tried to find 10K but I think he scouted ahead. "10K!" I screamed. "Tommy!!!" I yelled over and over again. The Z got closer and closer by the second. I smell its decaying breath. I let out one more scream before the Z dropped dead on top of me. I pushed it off and began to breath heavily on my back. "You okay?" A female voice asked. I nodded and slowly began to stand up.

I looked at the girl who had a gun pointed at me. "Who's Tommy?" She asked. "M-My partner." I said. She looked confused by the comment but soon dropped her gun. A knife was pulled to her throat. "What do you want." 10K snarled. She began to freak out but said, "I-I saved your friend." She whimpered. 10K looked at the zombie to my left a released his hold on the girl.

He ran to me and wrapped his arms around me. "We're you bit? Scratched?" He asked. "No, no. I'm fine." I said hugging him back. He pulled away and pecked my lips. "Good." He cooed. I smiled and turned back towards the girl. "What's your name?" I asked. "Courtney." She said, eyeing 10K. I glared at her then asked the next question. "How old are you?" "Seventeen." She replied. "How many weapons do you have?" 10K piped up. "Three." She said. "Put them on the ground." I growled at her. She motioned to her gun that was already on the ground, the put a knife on the ground, and lastly she pulled out three grenades and carefully set them on the ground.

I walked toward them and picked up the grenades and placed them in my pack carefully. "You can keep the rest." I said. She nodded and reached for her weapons. She picked them up and situated them into her person. "Thank you for your cooperation and help, you may go." I said. She nodded and slowly walked away. She looked back at Tommy and her eyes seemed to glaze over with Lust. 'What the hell is wrong with this girl?' I thought.

10K took my hand in his, and we walked down the road.

(10K's P.O.V)

That Courtney chick was weird. She looked at me like she, well, liked me. I cringed at the thought. I did not like that girl. Even if she helped Fox. She's nuts, she had fricken grenades on her! Who has grenades?!

I looked at Fox's bag. I don't like how she just put them in there. I looked over and saw a liquor store. Speaking of explosives, "Do we have any old rags?" I asked Fox. She looked at me confused but answered, "Yea. Why?" I just smiled and lead her over to the alcohol store. She looked at it then shook her head. We walked inside the store and I was surprised to see so many beer bottles that were in opened.

"Funny seeing you here." A voice purred. I turned and saw Courtney. Allie glared at her and pulled me closer. I think she sensed it too. "Hi Courtney." She basically snapped. "Woah. What got into you?" Courtney asked. "She sounds unstable to me. Unstable's not safe." She said looking from Fox to me. I think Allie was getting super jealous at this point. "We just came in to grab some bottles and leave." I reasoned. "Hmm Fun time eh?" She asked, "Mind if I join, I'm a pretty wild ride." She cooed.

Allie looked like she was about to slap her. I didn't blame her, I would do the same thing if Courtney was a guy. I walked over to the bar counter and picked up a pack of beer. "You need to pay for those." She said. "This is my part of town, and to use anything here you need to pay." She purred. I looked to Allie who's eyes practically out of her head from glaring at this girl. "I'm sorry, but we don't have anything to pay with." I said.

She smiled and hopped down from the counter. She walked over to me and ran a finger down my chest, "I can think of a few ways." She purred. I stepped away and put my hands up in defense. "Woah, I have a girlfriend." I said walking back over to Allie and slinging my arm around her. "This thing?" She said motioning towards her. "Yes, this gorgeously beautiful girl." I countered. Fox smiled up at me and nuzzled deeper to my chest.

"Hmph, fine. Not my fault when you see her die." She said. Allie refrained from snapping but she was about to. "She won't die, she's the best zombie killer I know." I said. "Fine by me. But if you need anything," she began, "anything," she continued emphasizing the 'anything' "Then you know where to find me." She purred.

Allie snapped, "Back the fuck off bitch!" She screamed. Courtney looked at her and smirked, "Unstable." She teased. Allie stormed up to her and pointed a finger towards her, "You stay away, if I find you anywhere near us I will feed you to the Z's." She snarled. Courtney held her hands up in defense and smirked, "Anything you say almighty Z killer." Allie just glared and grabbed my hand pulling me from the store.

"I hate her." She said. "I don't blame you." I muttered. Allie looked up at me with her adorable bug eyes, "Would you leave me for her?" She asked. I was shocked my the question. I took her hands and mine, "I would never do that, your my one and only, forever." I cooed. She smiled as we walked hand in hand down the empty city road.
