The door keeps knocking and knocking. "Go away!" I yell and my voice breaks. It has to be Tobias at the door, and I don't want to talk to him. Tears still stream down my face and I bubble a little as I wipe them away.
"Tris! Just open the goddamn door!" A manly voice says. It's not Tobias. I furrow my eyebrows as I stand up from the couch and tuck bits of my hair behind my ear. I sniffle as I slowly open the door. Before I can even see who it is, he pulls me into his embrace. His chin resting on my head as I just stand there confused. By his scent, it feels like Dylan.
"Dylan?" I ask pulling back and looking at him. "What are you doing here?"
"Aw, I missed you too Tris. Im good, thanks for asking" He says joking and I laugh a bit.
"Im sorry, Im just . . . Not in the best mood right now" I say.
"Wait, have you been crying?" He asks lifting my chin up and staring at my bloodshot eyes. I pull back and shake my head.
"It's nothing. Come in" I say and we go to the living room. He has a suitcase in his hand and he brings it inside. The corners of my lips lift as memories flash in my mind. He took that suitcase in camp last summer. We went to this cool summer camp with our school and we had so much fun. We were in the same room, with some other friends. Casey, Alison and Daniel. Every morning, Dylan would pick me up while I screamed my lungs out, and threw me in the lake.
Once, I pretended I was choking. Dylan dived in the water and picked me up while he almost cried. When I saw his eyes glistening in tears I laughed and told him I was faking.
"Dylan, Dylan. Im fine. I was just kidding" I said as I hugged him. He let out a sigh in relief and his grip on the hug tightened.
"Thank god" He murmured. "Don't do that again" he said. He was pissed at me all day.
We would sneak out of the rooms at night and go to the lake while everyone else slept. It was so fun, and it was probably the best summer I've had.
"So, why are you here?" I ask him while we sit down.
"Well. . . You know, I literally have no reason to be here" he says and I laugh. "I honestly just wanted to see how Chicago is, and you know, spend this summer with my girl" he says smiling. "I'll be spending the summer here"
"What do you mean here?" I ask confused.
"Here" he repeats as he gestures around the house. "Why should I pay a rent when I can stay in this huge, large, one hundred roomed house?" He says and I shake my head laughing.
"You're an idiot" I say. "Why didn't you tell me you're coming?"
"I wanted to, but you hing up on me" he says and I nod as I remember I did hang up. "By the way, why were you crying?" He asks me. Sighing, I bury my face in my hands.
    "It's nothing—"
"For god's sake Tris. Just tell me"
"It's Tobias"I say giving up and telling him. "We were playing truth or dare with our friends, and someone dared this new girl to have seven minutes in heaven with her crush. She stood up and walked toward Tobias and went to another room while she kissed him repeatedly"
"And why is that his fault?" He asks.
"He didn't stop her. . ." I add. We just stay in silence for a while, but then he speaks up.
"Do you have a radio?" He asks.
     "Yeah. . . Why?"
"Go get it" he says smiling. I nod, a little confused and go upstairs to my room and get it. Its not an old radio, its one of the new ones my aunt bought a while ago. I get it and go downstairs, jumping on each step. When I go down stairs, he stands up and does something on his phone. "Put on the Bluetooth" he says and I do what he says. The remix of the song Salute starts playing and I gasp while I start singing the lyrics. This is my favorite song at the moment, and of course, Dylan knows that. His song playlist on his phone, is literally a list of my top favorite songs. I grab the TV remote control and use it as a microphone. Dylan laughs and joins me singing while I put a pink hat on his head. I out on some sunglasses and we dance and sing like crazy people.
"Representing all the women! Salute! Salute!" We sing in the same time. Even though the lyrics of the song is Representing all the women and stuff like that, Dylan still likes the song. Our music taste is the same, and singing and dancing takes our minds off thing, so we always do it together. We stand on the table as we continue performing like crazy people.
By the end of the song, the door knocks and I accidentally spill a cup of water from the table. Dylan turns down the volume and I groan as I bend down to wipe off the water from the table.
"Go get the door. I'll fix the mess I made" I say and he nods as he runs off. After a few seconds (after I finish) I get up and go at the door to see who it is.
"Who are you again?" I hear Dylan ask annoyed.
"Who are you?" A voice I recognize as Tobias snaps at Dylan. I fast walk to the door and lightly push Dylan off the way.
"I'll be right back" I tell him and Dylan walks away as he stares at Tobias with a disgusted face. "What do you want, Tobias?"
"Oh, so Tobias is that asshole?" Dylan yells from behind. I groan as I roll my eyes.
"Shut up, Dylan!" I yell at him. "Though you are an asshole" I mumble. Tobias hears me, but chooses to ignore.
"Tris, please. Can we talk?" He asks. I look up at him and stare at him dead in the eyes. His eyes glisten with tears and he looks like he's about to cry any second. He looks so vulnerable and my heart aches when I look at him. "Please" he begs. I sigh as I grab my jacked from the floor (that I threw earlier).
"Fine" I say. "Dylan, Im leaving! Clean the kitchen while Im gone, and don't set anything in fire!" I yell so he can hear me. I hear him groan as I close the door and walk with Tobias. He wants to hold my hand but I yank it away.
"I'll buy you a drink" he says and I just nod. He walks and I follow him, keeping my distance.
