Chapter XLVII: Karma

"Don't be afraid of your fears,they're not there to scare you. They are there to let you know something is worth it."

"Anong nangyari?"  hingal na tanong ni Kevin upon reaching the rest of the Eirayas, he was afraid that something happened that made Kathryn scream so loud as if she saw death, in truth she really did.

Kevin did a head count inside his head to check every member of the family, he was relieved to see everyone standing until he saw the lifeless, bathing in blood, daughter of Severino on the ground.

His facial grimace was asking "Who killed her?" but couldn't say out loud.

The laws of the Eiraya's clearly states that they should not commit murder towards any Wiccan or Eiraya with the use of any form of deadly weapons that physically draws blood. The only death they can give their opponents is by casting a spell which vanishes them into thin air, erasing their body forms and brings their souls to live in another body, in another time. It only creates a temporary death. A concept close to reincarnation. This is how the principles that Eiraya's lived by. They were embodiment of peace, and humane.

It is also believed that any Eiraya who go against this said law will soon face a consequence which the universe made known as karma. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, life for a life. That's how the punishment worked.

"Minerva?!" Theodore called his wife mentally asking her to say something and hoping Kathryn did not kill Ursula.

"Hindi niya pinatay Theodore,nakita ko...hindi tayo pumapatay..." screaming in tears defending her innocent daughter.

Si Minerva at si Daniel lamang ang nakakita at magpapatunay na hindi pinatay ni Kathryn si Ursula. They saw how everything happened, Ursula took Kathryn's hand with a dagger and voluntarily brought it to her neck and cut her throat mercilessly. It was suicide. She created the ultimate distraction to let Severino escape.

Pero sa ibang nandoon nagmukha itong pinatay ni Kathryn, lalong lalo na kay Severino na tanging likod lamang ng anak ang tanging naaninag,  ang alam niyang katotohanan ay pinatay si Ursula ng isang Eiraya. Panibagong galit ang umusbong, panibagong paghihiganti ang naiisip.

Buhay para sa buhay na kinuha. Sambit niya sa madilim niyang isip.

He turned angrily at Kirlos, the only hostage he got his hands to. Wala na siyang nagawa para kunin si Caroline, kung nagkataon napatay na rin niya ito ngayon bilang ganti.

"Nang dahil sayo, nasira ang plano namin ng anak ko! Ng dahil sayo, ng dahil sa inyo...papatayin ko kayong lahat!" kinuwelyuhan niya ang walang lakas na si Kirlos. His face was full of blood with Daniel's beating, broken nose and a broken heart. He was good as dead.

"Gagamitin pa rin kita hanggang sa huli!...gagawin ko ang lahat.." pagtitimpi ni Severino "...makuha ko lang ang gusto ko!"

"Hindi mapupunta sa wala ang kamatayan ng anak ko!"

"Sisiguraduhin kong sila mismo ang papatay sayo Kirlos. Ikaw ang traydor, mamatay kang traydor." ngisi ni Severino habang bumubuo ng plano sa kanyang isip.

"Hindi ko siya pinatay...hindi...wala akong..hindi ko siya pinatay Dj.." Kathryn said repeatedly on Daniel's chest. She was shaking, her hands, her body even her words.

Kinuha ni Daniel ang mukha ni Kathryn at hinawakan ito ng buo. "Listen to me, hindi mo ginawa yun okay? Wala kang kasalanan. Siya ang pumatay...sa sarili niya." humagulgol si Kathryn.

"Ssssshhhhhhh...tama na Baby,makinig ka sa akin naman please. It's not your fault." pilit niyang pinapakalma si Kathryn na walang tigil sa pag iyak.
