Jocelyn took a breath in her room on her brown rocking chair that had been in the living room in the old house. Her tall floor lamp was on, filling up her dark room. The door that was closed; opened. Hannah stood there with a bright smile.
Jocelyn closed her book she had stared at for minutes blankly and stood up "hey Hannah what's up?"
"Your room is fricken cool" Hannah said looking around "and you have your own bathroom, honestly this would be an awesome college dorm and I would never complain if I lived here. Can me and Shawn move in?" She giggled.
"Sure but you guys get separated by beds and room" Jocelyn replied, forcing a smile. All her friends could tell that she was depressed for the past few days since Francis had told her the truth. She never told her mother because she didn't need more stress.
"Aww that's no fun" she made a fake frowny face then she smiled and laughed and so did Jocelyn. Hannah was always the person to talk to to cheer you up and warm your heart and comfort you. She could tell why Shawn liked her so much.
"Alec tried to talk to me yesterday while I was walking home from the library, but there was a lot of construction noise, I heard what he said but I pretended that he wasn't loud enough for me to hear him" Jocelyn let out a sigh.
"You need to let him know that you put him in the past and don't want to talk to him although there's gonna be a time when you have to work together" Hannah sat on her bed.
"I'll just say "'I'll do it all and give you some credit'"".
"Well that's boring and what if you fail?"
"Pfft please, all the teachers love me, they'd at least give me a D+ for the lowest grade, besides Mr. Winter. I heard he got suspended for a few weeks but he was only gone for three days" Jocelyn took a drink of monster that was on her end table by her bed.
"How can you drink that stuff? Ha! Remember when we were eight and we got a hold on a can of that and we skipped down the sidewalk holding hands sing the "'ring around the roses'" song?" Hannah laughed.
"My mom literally thought we were on drugs, and your mom wasn't happy with us but it was still funny, hats what led to your mom hating my mom" Jocelyn handed Hannah the can and she took a sip.
"We've matured enough that she forgot about it".
"Ha! Your definition of matured" Jocelyn laughed loudly that her mother yelled down the stairs to shut it down or leave.
"Who pissed in your moms Cheerios this morning? My mother always gets her panties in a snit" Hannah scoffed.
Jocelyn laughed again "she had a bad day at work, her boss is really creepy and puts a lot of pressure on her, I don't know how she keeps her sanity" she replied.
"Why doesn't she just quit?"
"She says it's a good salary" Jocelyn doubted that.
"I gotta go, my mom said I could be out for only three hours and I've been at the park for two and a half, see ya" Hannah said, got up and left as Jocelyn showed her out.
"Bye Hannah!" Jocelyn waved to her, she waved back as she started running down the driveway and onto the sidewalk down the road.
Jocelyn closed the door and walked back to her room only to be greeted by Francis which startled her "what are you doing here?" She asked crossing her arms after she closed the bedroom door.
"Look, Jocelyn I'm sorry, I never meant to tell you like that" Francis said.
Jocelyn was startled, she'd never heard him say sorry in the months she's known him.
"We've located the girl sire" the servant said to the leader.
He looked behind him, knowing he was talking to the general "you know what to do" he said.
"I'm sorry sire, but with one of them here we can't get to her-" the servant was cut off by being pushed against the wall and the leaders hand tight on his neck.
"Then kill him! Your smarter than this, I didn't create a stupid creature Talio so I suggest you talk to the general about him" the leader let go and returned back to his spot. Soon that girl would be his, soon he can kill her and the prophecy would end. She would be the end to all Foreshadowed and he wasn't gonna allow that.
He was glad he had killed her stupid father when he had the chance, otherwise she would be stronger and she would have her powers released. Her father begged for mercy because without him they wouldn't survive. Jocelyn Green will die, and the entire Chaos will follow her.
Jocelyn laid in bed, her face soft as she slept. Francis had gotten the news that Foreshadowed how found out who she is and where she is. He needed to protect her now which meant watching her everywhere she went.
He knew that she knew that he loved her and also knew that she trusted him to not do anything. But she felt safe by him and she didn't want that feeling to leave because she's never felt safe with the opposite gender before. Nightmares came in ways her father died, of a man planning his death.
Jocelyn sat up, sweating and panting. Francis sat next to her, looking concerned. "I'm sorry it was just a dream" she said.
"Are you ok? Need to talk about it?" He asked.
She shook her head "it's the same thing all the time, my dad is carrying me and she's running and my mom was next to him running too. Then this big blast of these weird beings-".
"Foreshadowed, maybe I dunno sorry continue" he interrupted her.
She gave him the death stair then resumed "and I fell and felt pain in my head, then I'm looking up and I see the sky and tress around me since we were in the woods. It's horrible" she looked down.
"I'm sorry" he said.
The split second silence was interrupted by her sigh as she laid back down and closed her eyes. This time, Francis was gonna watch what she was dreaming.
