All I could do was run, this dream was different. Ever since Francis held me in the sky it was all I could ever dream. But this dream, it was a nightmare.
I was surrounded by nothing but woods, and the woods wasn't my favorite place. But I stood there to catch my breath until I saw a shadow right in front of me, walking toward me and a twig snapped. I started to run again, this time I was crying, not knowing how much further I could go.
No one could hear me no matter how loud I screamed and cried for help. I stopped running because Francis was in my head, telling me to be brave for him. I turned around and faced the shadow "what do you want?" She yelled.
The shadow pointed past her and she turned, Francis stood there was Hannah and Shawn. Everyone I loved was there, my mom, even my dad and it grabbed my heart. Then gunshots went off and killed everyone but Francis. I couldn't run toward them, I was being held back by something, probably the shadow. Until I got free and ran toward Francis and jumped into his arms.
He hugged me tight as if he was never going to see me again "I know how much you love your friends and family" the lord said "I will protect them if you come to me, come to me to die! And your friends will live, otherwise everyone you love will die, and when I have you I will force you to watch your lover being tortured right in front of you. You have three days or I will find you, you'll die" the words "you'll die" echoed in my head as the voice got lighter, the shadow disappeared.
Jocelyn sat up in her bed with a gasp, her eyes wide open, she was sweating even though she was in shorts and a tank top. She struggled to catch and control her breathing, she need Francis.
She pulled the covers from her and rushed to the door and opened it. Jocelyn didn't know if he was in his room or not but she ran down the hallway to his room and knocked lightly.
Francis opened the door and yawned. Then his eyes went wide "Jocelyn what's wrong? Are you alright?" He asked.
"Bad dream, but I think it was a message" she replied. He led her downstairs and got her water as she explained the nightmare.
"I think it was just a nightmare, three days? Are you sure about all this?" He asked.
"Yes I'm positive, but the worst part is that when he finds me he's gonna make me watch him torture you and that's the thing I'm worried about, Francis I'm scared" she was still shaking.
He put his hand in hers "Jocelyn, Jocelyn look at me" when she made eye contact he continued "nothing is going to happen to me, nothing's going to happen to you either, the Lord cannot enter without ones permission".
"But someone here who we trust must've told him where I lived, and where Hannah lived. Why else would there have been an attack when I went there? And who knows if one Chaos people is a spy for him and let him in".
"Jocelyn, your tired and you look like hell" Francis said.
"I'm not going back to bed by myself, I don't think I could sleep" she said holding her pointer finger at him, showing him she was serious.
He took her hand and led her back up the stairs and too her room, opened the door and walked them both in it. Once he let go her ran and jumped on the bed while letting out a sigh and patted the space next to him. She scoffed and laughed then joined him.
(Day 11 of hiding)
"Jocelyn?" A soft voice said by her "Jocelyn" he said again.
Jocelyn opened her eyes, Francis was trying to wake her up, she sat up and rubbed her eyes while getting ready to stretch her arms and yawn. Francis sat at the end of the bed by her "hi" he said.
"Hallo" she replied. She spent the rest of last night thinking about becoming Chaos and going to his haven when she could, he wouldn't have to carry her and she could go by herself.
"Hey Francis?" She said before he left the room.
He turned and faced her "yeah?"
"Can I- possibly become Chaos?"
He got excited "you really want to?" He exclaimed like a little boy getting ready to go to a zoo or a fair.
"Yeah, plus I wouldn't be in danger from the other guys outside, and I liked the place you showed me, your haven and I wanted to go there on my own in case you couldn't" she replied.
"Today?" He asked.
Jocelyn gasped and thought for a moment, then nodded. She would've done it before but she wanted to be comfortable and since he flew her in the sky she was comfortable with Francis making her Chaos, she was comfortable with being Chaos. "Right now if you can" she said.
"Sure, but if I'm going to change you, I'm bringing you back up" he said. She knew that he meant their haven, more like his and like her new haven.
He grabbed her, pushed against her. The next thing she knew she was floating again, she held onto his neck and they went back to the position they were in when he first brought her here. But this time he kissed her, the kiss felt soft but hungry, eager and begging for more. She felt the power being transferred and it made her shiver. She felt something growing on her back. Then there was pain but she tried hard not to show it.
Her heart stopped but she was still moving, still looking at Francis. She started breathing again and the kiss broke. It was done, she was Chaos and there was no turning back.
Jocelyn looked behind her, on the side of her. One white wing on the right and a black wing on the left, like Francis. He wasn't holding her in place any more, she felt like she was standing on an invisible floor.
They shared a glance and she caught her breath "are we standing on a floor?" She asked.
He nodded, and with the flick of his hand, a house or some sort of cabin appeared behind her while she glanced back then moved her body in that direction. They were standing on the front porch of the cabin "I come here if my mom or Michael was getting on my nerve" he said.
He was starting to walk away but Jocelyn said "Francis, wait".
"What?" He said.
She took a deep breathe, afraid of this moment to confess "I'm ready, I'm ready to spend the rest of my life with you".
