Everything he saw in her dream was so familiar to his home, and the environment around her in the woods. It was the time her father was losing his family as punishment. How did the Foreshadowed become involved? The King must've had something to do with it and now her life is in danger and she has no idea how hard he has to keep her safe.
The next morning was alright, Jocelyn's mother went to work and Francis went home. It was finally Saturday and she gets a four day week for the rest of the year in school which rocks. Jocelyn was so used to everything being on Monday so it was gonna be a hard habit to break. She was so tired she didn't even hear Hannah come in. "Jocelyn?" She whispered.
Hannah spotted Jocelyn in her bed, fast asleep. Hannah woke her up, Jocelyn was pissed and wasn't a morning person "what the hell is wrong with you?" Jocelyn said throwing a pillow at Hannah.
"A lot of things, come on get dressed Shawns waiting for us. We're going to the beach" she said and walked out of the room.
Jocelyn groaned and sat up, got her bikini on and clothes over it and walked out. They packed a few things, towels, sunscreen, sun tan lotion, sunglasses and flip flops. "Ok let's go" Hannah said and almost dragged Jocelyn out of he house by her ear to the car.
Shawn was standing there as they pulled into the parking lot, Francis stood by him and Michael stood next to Francis. Hannah joked about them lined up like that and it made Jocelyn laugh.
An hour later the boys were messing around in the lake while Hannah and Jocelyn sat under an umbrella on chairs with towels and sunglasses, just feeling the rays of the sun. The boy's laughter ended when they heard a louder bang, which made Jocelyn jump and looking where it came from. Francis was up by her within seconds "what the hell was that?" Jocelyn asked.
"I dunno, but I got a bad feeling about it" he replied. Jocelyn didn't realize he was holding her and her hands on his chest as if a scared child from a near death experience until Hannah and Shawn looked at them funny. She pushed away from him and he got defensive "look I'm sorry I just, I don't wanna see you hurt and now that your under my protection I better start showing that you are and that I care about you" he said.
She gasped when he started walking toward the direction of her house. Maybe if he's so defensive about that, he really does care about me she thought to her self.
"Alrighty then, you wanna head home? Shawn said he'd give me a ride home" Hannah asked.
"I'm yeah I'm gonna go, see you later" Jocelyn got in her car and drove off.
When she pulled into the driveway Jocelyn killed the engine, got out the car and slammed the car door closed to let Francis know she was home and she was angry. He was surprised when she slammed the front door also as he stood on the steps to go up to her level. "You're a jerk" she said pushing past him to change.
He followed her but stopped when she slammed the door in his face. "Jocelyn I'm sorry, I hate is just as much as you do" he said.
"It's your fault my life is in danger anyway!" She yelled from the other side of the door, quickly changing then giving the ok that he could come in. Francis walked in and saw her sitting in her chair in jean caprice and a short-sleeved shirt.
"But I'm making it up to you aren't I?"
"Well I feel like I've gone mad but" she stood up and walked toward him, and hugged him "I am zieo and I realized that you do care about me and I couldn't thank you enough for it" she finished.
He hadn't gotten a hug from anyone in years, he hugged her back "I love you Jocelyn" he said.
She didn't hesitate, didn't gasp but simply replied "I love you too".
"Caitlin this needs to end! You need to tell her the truth!" The King demanded.
"She already knows the truth and don't you dare tell me what to do, your the reason me and my daughter are human" she was cut off by a slap.
"Don't blame me for your pity husbands decisions, he wasn't wrong when he admitted that he couldn't keep his wife in line, as did many other people tell him as well" he interrupted her.
"You know I'm really glad that Ash left you, you didn't deserve and now my sister is dead because of you. You made my husband a sentinel, you made him who he was. I need to go before Asher sees me here. He wouldn't be very happy" Caitlin said.
"I've already seen you" Asher said standing in the door way.
Caitlin unfolded her arms as she faced his way with a gasp "Asher I'm sorry" she stuttered.
"No need to apologize little sister" Asher approached her then made a mean glare at the King "she's right though, you didn't deserve Ashley. But you had my little sister's husband murder her only because you were furious and she would make your reputation bad then people found out about your little assassination request and, I'm surprised to not see your head on a fucking stick on the throne where it belongs".
"I'm the King, had the people done that they would be lost since I didn't have another heir to take my place but" he faced Caitlin "I'm surprised Asher didn't have the nerve to tell you the truth, Ashley was expecting. Another reason I had her killed, I found out it was a girl and she would've shamed my family".
Caitlin stormed out of the room in a sob. When she returned home she knew Jocelyn wasn't home yet, so she went to her room. She stayed silent and wanted to see if her daughter would notice or look for her.
