Chapter 26,

Sunday, two days later;

Sunday, the day that Sammy unfortunately has to fly back to New Jersey away from me and away from North Carolina. Sammy and I made our way down to the kitchen, where Nash just got off of the phone. Nash sighed and placed his phone into his pocket, raising an eyebrow towards my direction. I furrowed my eyebrows and waited for his words, as I knew where this was heading.

"Dads gone on another business trip," Nash sighed which made me feel very sad. "Great," I rolled my eyes and sat down onto a stool.

"Also mum has gone with him," Nash said before he walked off and left Sammy and I alone. I shook my head and rested my elbows upon the counter. 

"Can I just grab something to eat?" Sammy asked. "Yeah. Help yourself," I mumbled as I started to dig my hands into my hair. 

"Thanks," Sammy opened up the fridge. "All good," I raised my eyebrows and looked down at the countertop. 

"So how's Matt?" Sammy placed some milk onto the counter. "He's good," I said as I felt a smile grow upon my lips. 

"I always knew you two would end up together," Sammy wiggled his eyebrows as he grabbed some Captain Crunch out. "Oh shut up," I rolled my eyes as I felt like I started to blush. 

"You need to visit New Jersey soon," Sammy started pouring his cereal out, as I just watched him. "Yeah," I muttered. 

"And then we can go to all of our old spots," Sammy pushed his bowl forward. "Sounds fun," I watched him place all the ingredients back into the pantry. 

"What's up?" Sammy sat down next to me and rubbed his hands together. "Just sick of my dad always being away," I shrugged.

"You know he can't help it," Sammy took his first bite. "Yeah but I thought I was going to have some form of parental presence," I looked down at his bowl. 

"And you do," Sammy said. "And I don't," I slowly looked up at him and furrowed my eyebrows. 

Sammy rolled his eyes and continued to eat, as I lost my appetite to eat.

"Here we are, the airport," I said as the slidey doors opened and allowed Sammy and I to enter. "Still have that bracelet?" Sammy picked up my arm as he wanted to change the subject. 

"Always have it on," I flashed my braces. "I love you Maddie," Sammy patted my head as he dropped my arm. "I love you too," I smiled. 

Sammy looked up and looked around, trying to find out where he was supposed to be. I felt my phone buzz in the back of my pocket, causing me to bring it out. I looked down at my screen and saw Matt texted me, making my heart fly away to Neverland.

Morning beautiful, how is your rainy day today?

Alright, just dropping Sammy off at the airport now. I'll be over in an hour homie. 

I turned my phone off and shoved it into my back pocket, as I looked up at Sammy once he figured out where to be. He told me to sit down while he went to security, so I did. I slowly made my way to the chairs, as I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I sat down and pulled my phone out, feeling my stomach get immediate butterflies.
