Chapter 44: Fall Apart

[i didn't expect na mapapaiyak kayo nung previous chapter. Although sa buong pagsusulat ko, yun lang yung chapter na umiiyak ako habang nagsusulat.. Saka iniimagine ko palang umiiyak na ako. Lol haha kshare.]

"Karylle, Karylle I am here." I kept on telling her while holding her hand. Everyone's panicking while we were inside a rushing ambulance. "K, everything will be okay." I whispered as tears ran down my face. I kissed her hand and held it even tighter. She's just staring blankly at me, not saying anything, not flashing any emotions.

"A-anne" she finally uttered the moment we arrived at the hospital. The nurses quickly assisted her to lay her on the wheeled hospital bed and we all rush towards the emergency room. I'm still holding her hand tightly.

"Everything will be alright." I tell her.

"Anne.."

"Shh... I love you, okay?"

"Anne, let me go" she tells me. I felt like I am stabbed in the heart but I tried not to mind it. "Anne, let me go, please" she said once again as she tried her best to pull her hand away from my grip. I held her tighter but she still insisted. "Let me go." she said once again, this time emphasizing the words. I didn't want to but her hand suddenly slipped from mine and the doctors finally lay her on the hospital bed of the E.R.

They started to put some machines all over her body and they are all around her. I didn't know what happened next. Everything seem to went black again and all I know is that, I, together with my friends are waiting outside the emergency room with nothing to do but to worry about her.

"Let me in. Let me in please!!" I tell the nurse who just went out of the room.

"Anne, tama na" Vhong said, holding me by the arm but I pushed him. I didn't wait for the nurse to answer, I quickly entered the room and my world stopped when I saw the doctors surrounding Karylle.

"Clear!" the doctor said while using the defibrillator to revive Karylle. I shook my head.

"Ma'am lumabas na po muna tayo" the nurse said holding me by the arm. My breathing became heavy when the electrocardiograph machine turned into a long 'beep' sound.

"Time of death..." the doctor was about to say but I freaked out and pushed the nurse holding me.

"Shut up! She's not going to leave me!!" I tell everyone and pushed away everyone who's trying to stop me. I rushed to Karylle and gave her a hug as tears stream down my face. "Karylle, Karylle.. naririnig mo ako 'di ba? Ako 'to, si Anne." I whispered to her ear as I kept on crying. The doctors on the other hand were already removing the apparatus they put into her a while ago.

"Do you...do you want me to let you go?" I asked with a cracking voice. "Fine.. I'll let you go, but not now. Not now, please?" I whispered. "I will let you go, I promise." I added and took a deep breath. "But can you please wait, wait for me 'till I become ready? Just a little more time please? Please K, come back to me. I love you. I love you so much." I said and my heart skipped a beat when I saw the ECG machine coming back to its original state.

I looked up in the crucifix above her bed and thanked Him. I felt Karylle's hand touching my face and smiled at me.

"I love you too." she said and closed her eyes. I shook my head as I panicked and looked at the ECG machine again and checked if it went on a long 'beep' sound. I glanced at the doctors smiling back at me. They started to put back some apparatus on her body again. I shook my head and looked at them with doubt.

"What...what happened? Is she alive?" I asked. "Is she.."

"Yes" the doctor said with a nod.

"Pero...pero bakit..."
