Being in a church was a bit... Odd. Most likely because I had never even seen the interior of a church in all of my years of existence. Tyler used to go to this church that we were supposed to be employed at. Together, we worked as interns. Getting coffee, filing papers, cleaning and other various intern activities. I would be bored out of my mind if it weren't for the fact that Tyler was working along side me every single day. On the week of my birthday, he began to act differently. I knew that he was planning something, I could tell. But I let him have his fun. Since the church was quiet and deserted most of the week, we had to keep ourselves occupied. Whether it be by making and occasional random video, or making up some sort of game with the cleaning supplies, we kept ourselves occupied during the time that work wasn't necessary. Finally, the day of my birthday arrived. October sixth had fallen upon us. Waking up in the morning, I didn't feel any different being twenty two. My birthday was no big deal, so I continued on with my day, and prepared myself for work. It wasn't until I was walking to the church that I knew that Tyler really was up to something. I watched as his blue Toyota pulled up next to me as I walked.

"HAAAAPYYYY BIIIIIRTHDAAAAY!" Tyler pretty much hollered from the drivers seat. I smiled at him, my face turning red.

"Shhh, you'll disturb the entire street!" I scolded. Tyler ignored me.

"Get in the car, we're skipping work today!"
I shook my head at him, and reluctantly stepped into the car. Tyler was silent as we drove, but I could feel the excitement radiating off of him. We pulled up to a building that I didn't recognize. It looked very old, but with lots of modern renovations.

"Remember how you said that you loved art?" He questioned me.

"Um, yeah?" I told him.

'What was he up to?'

"Well, since I have never seen these talents, our first stop today will be this wonderful art studio!" He explained to me.

"Aw, thank you so much!" I felt a smile creep up on my face. I hadn't done much art in a very long time. Walking into the studio, I could smell the old charcoal and paints that I knew so well from when I was younger. Oh, how I've missed that smell.

"Well, we've got the place to ourselves for two hours, so we can do whatever." Tyler told me. I instantly felt giddy. Art supplies everywhere! I instantly grabbed a blank canvas and some water color paints and brought them over to the nearest easel. I couldn't wait to start painting.

I knew that I made a good decision bringing Emily to the art studio right when I told her. I could see her eyes light up instantly as we stepped inside. I had booked the place out a few nights earlier, so it could just be me and her. Of course that already cost half of what I earned at the church, but it was worth every single penny to see her so happy. I watched her grab the art supplies and run to an art easel. Watching her begin to paint made me so hypnotized. The way her fingers gripped the wooden brush, leaving a trail of dark blues and greens. Her hands moved with such ease, I knew that art was just the right thing for her. I didn't even mind that we sat so silently. Sometimes she would faintly hum a song, sometimes I would do the same. I noticed that after a while of watching her hands move the brush around the now colored canvas, a certain image began to form. I walked closer to where Emily stood, and observed the painting from over her shoulder. A navy blue sky was highlighted by the lights of many tall buildings in the distance. Dark and spiraling green trees stood tall around a clearing, where the outline of a couple dancing was centered in the middle of it all. Every single time I looked at that painting, I noticed a new detail. Off in the corner, I saw a Fawn and a Doe hiding in the trees. I saw a little boy with messy brown hair sitting on the lap of a man who rested on a park bench. I had no idea that Emily could make something like this. With one final stroke of her brush, she backed away from her painting.
