I went to join the crowd out on the club floor. Tyler was already up on his piano. There were tons of people waiting. I felt exited for Tyler and Josh, but also very nervous.

"Hello." Tyler spoke into his microphone. A few members of the crowd cheered.

"We're Twenty One Pilots, and we're happy to see you all out tonight." Tyler continued. He then began to play his piano.

"Now is the climax to the story that gives the demons and angels purpose..." He started to sing. It carried on like that throughout the rest of the night, Josh on his drums, and Tyler playing whatever the hell he wanted. Of course I've heard them play all of these songs before, but listening to Tyler sing made them feel brand new. Occasionally, Tyler would spot me in the audience and give me a little smile. Finally, they played one of my favorite songs of theirs, Taxi Cab.

"...Then there were three men up front, all I saw were backs of heads, and then I asked, 'Am I alive and well or am I dreaming dead?' And then one turned around to say, 'we're driving toward the morning sun where all your blood is washed away And all you did will be undone'..."

Finally, the night that we had all been waiting for was over, or so I thought.

"I have just one more song to play tonight." Tyler told the audience, who responded with cheers.

"It's for someone very special in my life. Emily, this is for you!" He pointed at me.

'What was he doing?'

I've never heard them practice any other songs. Tyler hopped onto his piano and began to play.

"On the corner of main street, just trying to keep it in line. You say you wanna move on and you say I'm falling behind, can you read my mind?"

He was playing the Killers. Of course he was playing the Killers. I was smiling ear to ear.

"I never really gave up on breaking out of this two-star town.
I got the green light, I got a little fight, I'm gonna turn this thing around. Can your read my mind?"

I realized now that this song was perfect for both Tyler and I. Wanting to get out of Columbus, and moving on from our suburban life.

" The good old days, the honest man; The restless heart, the Promised Land. A subtle kiss that no one sees; A broken wrist and a big trapeze."

How did he know me so well? How did this song know me so well? I've listened to this song hundreds of times, and never truly listened. It made me want to right then get up and leave Ohio. Maybe go somewhere exotic?

"Oh well I don't mind, if you don't mind. 'Cause I don't shine if you don't shine. Before you go, can you read my mind?

It's funny how you just break down, Waiting' on some sign. I pull up to the front of your driveway, with magic soaking' my spine

Can you read my mind?
Can you read my mind?

The teenage queen, the loaded gun; The drop dead dream, the Chosen One. A southern drawl, a world unseen; A city wall and a trampoline.

Oh well I don't mind, if you don't mind, 'cause I don't shine if you don't shine.
Before you jump, tell me what you find when you read my mind.

Slipping' in my faith until I fall, you never returned that call.
Woman, open the door, don't let it sting. I wanna breathe that fire again

She said I don't mind, if you don't mind, 'cause I don't shine if you don't shine

Put your back on me, Put your back on me,Put your back on me,

The stars are blazing like rebel diamonds cut out of the sun, when you read my mind."

He stepped off of his piano, and Josh walked away from his drums, both of them smiling widely. They took a big bow, and the audience went wild.

"Thank you, and have a good night Columbus!" Tyler called out. I ran to go meet them back stage. When I saw Tyler walking in from the entrance of the stage, I sprinted up to him and threw my arms around him.

"Thank you." I said into his shoulder. He rested his chin on top of my head, and we just stayed there for a a while.
