CHAPTER 31 - The Last Stand

INT SESSION ROOM - MORNING

Tahimik ang buong kwarto ngunit ramdam mo ang tension ng bawat panig. Both counterparts were seating opposite to each other in a long table at the center.

She distributed the legal papers to Dylan and Wena. Wena looked at the paper and gave a glance on the other pages. While Dylan just merely looked at it.

MEDIATOR: You may read its content Ms. Dylan ( she said politely)

DYLAN: I don’t need to.(Dylan gazed to Andy who is continuously giving her a teased look), but before I sign (napatingin sina wena at andy sa kanya, as well as the mediator and her attorney), Gusto kong siguraduhin ang isang bagay (pahayag nito habang tinitigan si Wena), Gustong kong marinig sa asawa ko ngayon, right infront of me and to all of you here, gustokong sabihn niya sa akin ngayon na “ Hindi niya na ako mahal, at hindi na maaayos ang sa amin”, (seryosong sad nit dylan) yon saka lang ako pipirma pag narinig ko na yon

Napangisi si Andy sa sinabi ni Dylan...

ANDY: Sinong tinotorture mo Dylan? Ikaw o si Wena? (she asked seriously)

Tiningnan ng mediator si Dylan.

MEDIATOR: Are you trying to be a massochist here Ms. Dylan?

DYLAN: No Mam! I just wanted to be sure before I’ll  take my last stand.

Tahamik lamang si Wena, habang seryosong naguusap ang dalawa.

DYLAN: I know I’ve done so many things that i shouldn’t have done (she conitune as she gazed on medaitor’s eyes), nangyari na ang lahat ng nangyari, (she looked on wena’s eyes), I’m not perfect and i can never be, at sa yon ako eh, sa ganon ako, at eto ako and i believe my wife knows it already, if she can’t accept me for who and what i am (she smirked) sino ba ako para pigilan siyang maging masaya. (paliwanag nito),

Napatingin ang mediator kay wena.

MEDIATOR: Mrs. Howell, you may have your final words (pahayag nito while giving the floor to wena)

Sandaling natahimik si Wena tila’y iniisip kung anung sasabihin, seryoso ang mukha nito while staring her down to the flat surface of the table. Seconds later she felt andy’s hand holding and gripping her hand which was placed on her lap. She looked at andy habang matipid siyang nginitian and nodded her head saying like “ go ahead tell her that you don’t love her anymore”.

Dylan looked at them and felt so envy the way they look at each other. It hurts her but she tried to compose herself  as she leans on the back of her chair and took a deep breathed out.

Napatingin si Wena sa Mediator.

MEDIATOR: Go ahead Wena, we’re listening (she said)

Binalin ni Wena ang kanyang tingin kay Dylan, at sa puntong iyon na paupo si Dylan ng derecho sa knayang upuan.

DYLAN: Do you still love me? (she asked softly while gazing on wena’s eyes),

Seconds passed...

WENA: No! (maagap na sagot nito habang pinigil ang namumuong luha sa mata)

DYLAN: Isn’t our marriage worth saving? (she asked again)

WENA: Yes (direchong sagot ni wena)

Nagtitigan ang dalawa ngunit naunang kumalas si Dylan sabay kinuha ang ballpen at sinimulan pirmahan ang mga papeles.

Music starts playing (Anung nangyari sa atin dalawa)
