"C'mon guys sprint faster!" the basketball coach yelled at all the newcomers who were trying out for the team, which included me. If anything I'll probably be put in J.V. I was very nervous that I may not even make it and Marina would be disappointed.
I thought to myself ' feet don't fail me now, take me to the finish line'.

"Alright. Nice job out there girls." Coach Fernandez said as he patted our backs to congratulate us. I was the 4th person who finished out of 11 who were trying out. I actually felt very accomplished especially since I'm not a runner and I don't like running.

I when to the water fountain to take a real quick sip.
"Hey you're really fast and you did good out there."
"Thanks Marina. Aren't you supposed to be practicing with the cheer team?" Trying to catch my breath I looked at her.
"Yeah I should but I wanted to come see you practice." Her voice slowly started getting lower. It was cute how she started to blush while looking down to the floor. Her cute little smirk made me want to just grab her and kiss her.

"Hey I'm gonna go change real quick."
"Alright I'll wait for you outside the locker room."
"Alright." I ran backwards smiling at her. When I walked into the locker room some of the girls were already changed and some in the restroom ready to leave. I got a towel and dried my back and neck from all the sweat. I left my shorts and shirt on. I grabbed my sweater to put it on and once I locked my locker somebody abruptly pushed me to towards the locker.

"Fuck you Lana!" It took me a while to react to who it was.
"Lana you stole my fucken best friend! You probably told her lies to become your friend."
"First of all Yolanda me and everyone else knows you took Marina's ugly boyfriend and hooked up with him. So it's your fault." I pushed her and she tripped with the bench and fell on the floor hitting her head against the other locker.

"Next time you should have a better reason to talk shit. And by the way I'm happy and proud of Marina not being with such a fake friend like you!" I could tell Yolanda was getting even more mad because of what I had just told her.

I walked out the locker and saw my goddess sitting down on a bench. She had her gym bag and apparently also mine. Wow she would be the most perfect girl for me.

'No Lana she's just being friendly. She is straight and has never dated or girl and mostly likely never has had a crush on one. Why would she want a girl as a lover when she can get any guy with such beautiful body and mentality.'

My mind stops and thinks that I should just see her as a friend because that's all were ever gonna be. I stood for a while just starring into her direction overthinking about how I feel about trying to hit on her.

"Hey sorry I took a while."
"It's alright." she looked as if I had interrupted some deep thoughts. We both got up and I got my gym bag.
"Thanks for holding my bag."
"It really is no problem."

We both were into deep thoughts while we walked up the stairs and towards the exit of the school.

"So how's cheer?" I asked trying to break silence.
"It's alright and I have enjoyed it so far but.. Yolanda is in cheer and I don't know whether to talk to her or not."
"Wow that's crazy especially after she broke your wonderful heart." My heart jumped when she started smiling and I realized I spoke my mind a bit to much.

"I just sometimes wonder what it would be like if I were a boy and I would probably have no troubles or cramps." She was cute and I mean really cute and her accent is always on point.

BEEP BEEP

We looked to the other side of the sidewalk and saw George inside his truck.
"C'mon Marina! Oh and hey Lana want a ride?!" I guess I might as well get a ride since I didn't bring my car today.
"Lets go Lana."
"Yeah!" We both j-walked the street and ran towards the truck.

"Thanks for actually picking me up I thought you ignored my text." Marina exclaimed as we both sat in the back seats. She playfully slapped him on the side of his head.
"It's 'cause Lana not 'cause you Marina." He said turning around looking at me.
"So buckle up girls."

He dropped me up first and it was creepy that he knows where I live.

"Goodbye Lana! Text me right now!" Marina said in such a sad voice as I was about to close the door.
"I will."
I walked half way to the door when then I heard steps behind me.

"Lana. You forgot your gym bag." She said softly holding the bag behind her back giving me such a childish adorable look and eyes.
"Oh shit how can I forget. Sorry and thanks."
"You know I thought I was really shy but you're the one who gets shier." She said handing my bag to me.
"Well don't forget to text me." She said walking confident back to her car. George who was starring from the window the whole time waved bye at me and winked.

Ewww no... just no...
