Chapter 11

Today was finally the day I was going with Marina to a concert and not just any concert. This concert would be so special since it's something that we both have in common. The only thing is that it still will be special but just a little less special since her brother is coming with us. I guess it would still be a great night and maybe I can get to know her brother more.

I put on my Arctic Monkeys t-shirt which I had barely gotten shipped about two days ago. I was so excited for tonight but I was also very nervous at the same time.

It was about 3 pm when Marina called me saying that they were outside my house already. I quickly got my phone and camera from the counter top and flew out the door.

Marina got out the car and opened the door for me to get inside the car. She's such a sweetheart.

"Are you ready?" Marina asked as George drove away from my house.
"No I'm not ready. I'm emotionally unprepared. Are you ready?!"
"Hells no." Marina responded looking outside the car while putting the windows down.

Before we entered the freeway George stopped at a gas station, one of my favorite places.

"Do you guys want anything?" George asked looking to the mirror making direct eye contact with me.
"I'm fine just give me a slurpee, a bag of hot cheetos, and some nachos with meat." Marina said while smiling at me.
"Okay sis. And what about you Lana?" He focused his attention to me which made me feel a bit weird.
"Just nachos and a slurpee would be good."
"Alright be right back guys."

Marina put up her window and my window up.

"I'm really excited Lana and I can't thank you enough for inviting me. You're such a good friend. Honestly you really are."
"It really isn't much but you're welcome."

She then held my hand for about a few seconds and without any notice she let go of it when her brother tapped the window of the car. She put down the window.

"What do you want! Joking thanks." She grabbed the snacks he had bought us and handed me the nachos and slurpee.
"Thank you." I said as he was still standing by the door looking at me.
"No problem." He said still staring at me and now I really REALLY felt uncomfortable so I looked down.
"Aren't you going to put gas in the car." Marina asked awkwardly.
"Oh yeah I knew I forgot something."

It was about an hour drive on the freeway and it was already 5 pm we still had to wait for 2 hours for the concert to start so we stood in line. We talked to people who we've never met before and even exchanged numbers with them. But there was one girl who was nice who i will never forget because she was just so cool.

"Nice to meet you Lana my name is Melanie but you can call me Mel. And I know how you feel because I can't wait any longer as well."
"Yeah I know me and my friend here Marina really love their music." It was now Marina's turn to introduce herself.
"Yup they're so amazing. Are you from around here." Marina asked wanting to get to know Melanie as well.
"I actually just moved here from Baldwin, New York and my family is planning to stay here in L.A."
"That's cool and what school do you attend?" Marina anxiously asked.
"I will be attendi-" Melanie was cut off because everyone was starting to move forward the line to enter the arena.

"Well it was nice meeting you Mel."
"Yeah same to both of you."

Marina grabbed my hand sweating but probably because the excitement. Mostly everybody ran into the entrance. We were stopped by security guards who wanted us to show our tickets and thats when I forgot I had given them to George.

"Fuck!" I said under my breath.
"What's wrong?!" Marina asked hesitantly.
"Hey girls sorry for taking to long in the car I forgot my phone." He handed the tickets to the security guard and we entered. I couldn't believe we were so close to not being able to see them live.

It took us a while to find our row and seat number but we eventually found them. It was all good especially since Marina sat in between me and her brother. The lights from the stadium then turned off and the crowd started getting excited because the lights that flashed.

The crowd roared which gave me goosebumps and the adrenaline rush that I felt in my body made me scream when the band appeared on the stage.

Marina squeezed my hand as the band came towards the front of the stage and I eventually squeezed her hand back. Then the guitar and drums started getting played and that's where I lost my chill.

I got the urge to go to the restroom about half way through the show. I couldn't wait long enough.

"Hey Marina I'll be back!!! I'm going to the restroom!!!" I yelled in her ear and she nodded and said in my ear.
"Okay love!"

As I walked over the end of the row I couldn't help but blush at what she had said. I ran to the restroom I was near the point of exploding all the urine out.

As I sat to urinate I thought of all the possibilities that may sound like love. I doubt she said love and the crowd was loud I just probably didn't hear correctly. Maybe she just meant to say my name, Lana.

"Lana....Love....Lana..." I pronounced both words in my head and they both sounded similar... so maybe she did make a mistake or I heard wrong.

I walked out the restroom after washing my hands and I couldn't believe who was waiting for me outside the restroom.

"Oh...hey George? I didn't know you were waiting for me..."
"Oh yeah. I just didn't want you to get lost."
"Oh. You do know when my mom told me that an older person has to come with us it didn't include waiting for me outside the restroom."
"Yeah I know. Just that I. I want to make sure your fine."
"I'm fine and thanks for caring."

I walked back to the seats and I wasn't sure if George was behind but even if he wasn't I felt like I was being stalked. As I got closer to my seat I saw Marina sitting down. She probably got tired but as I got closer she looked sad. Probably one of the songs they sang must've gotten to her.

As I leaned down to her the band started playing 'R U Mine' and the crowd when wild. I touched Marina's shoulder and signalled her to get up. By the time the chorus started she started singing the chorus. I sang along with her as we had our hands up in the air.

The concert then ended after a few more songs and Marina looked fine but at the same time she didn't. I knew something was bothering her but I didn't want to ask her.

"That was amazing wasn't it Marina?!!!"
"Yeah it sure was."
"Hey are you alright?"
"Yeah just a bit tired. I really want to go home. And where the fuck is George?" Her phone rang and it was George letting her know that he was inside the car waiting for us.

The drive to my house was very awkward and I didn't say anything until I got home right before I exited the car.

"Feel better Marina."

I knew she knew that I knew that she wasn't tired at all and I really had no idea what made her get in such mood. I really love her and for her to be in a bad mood affects me as well.
