Bella P.O.V

Only three days into the trip we arrived at the furthest town from Chicago. I'm not completely sure where we are but Martin assured me it was safe for me to finally walk out of the carriage.

The road was solitary, quiet. There was no sign of the men in black from Jacob, but there were a lot of showers. I felt bad for Gus and Oscar who drove the carriage out in the open but Martin said those men were made out of iron and they sure as hell are. I laugh at myself at my own thought, my mother would have gone crazy if she heard me say the word hell.

My hand runs down my abdomen to my belly. I smile at myself knowing my baby is in there. My little boy or girl. I can't wait to get to Edward and tell him the news, I wonder how will he take it. I'm sure he'll be a great father. My hand softly caressed my belly over the cloth of the shirt as I thought about my baby, hoping that all the activity that I have been doing lately hasn't harmed in. Oh God, could all this harm my baby. Can this journey harm him?

Martin walks up to me, taking me out of my worry thought with a plate filled with food. He probably saw the worry in my face when he asked, "Is everything alright?"

"I don't know," I whispered, sitting up on my seat. "I don't know if this journey could harm my baby. With all the jumping and horse riding and running and swimming, could I have harmed my baby? Maybe I'm not taking care of him the way I should."

"No," he said kneeling in front of me. He placed the plate of food next to me and took my hand in his and with his free hand he pulled my hair from my face. "Bella, you're doing great. I'm sure you're baby is fine. He's as strong as you are."

"And what if he isn't?" I choke out. "I'm not entirely sure how far I am into my pregnancy, what if I didn't take care of him the way I should had and I lost him?"

"We're not jumping to conclusions here, sweetheart. You have not lost your baby and he is healthy." He sighed and took a second to think. "I know. They have a nurse here. We can ask her to check you and make sure everything is fine. I'll go with you if you want."

I nod, cleaning my tears away with the long sleeve of the shirt. "Where are we anyway?"

"Somewhere in Minnesota. Oscar is talking to the mayor of the town to tells us a better way to get to South Dakota. The trip might take longer than what we thought."

I sigh. I really want to go home. "Can we go see if the lady can check me?" I ask. At least that could take my mind off it.

He nodded. "We'll go right after you eat. Remember, you need to be strong for the baby." He hands me the plate.

I nod, taking the plate from him. Martin watched me eat, making sure I ate every single bite from the chicken the cook made for everyone earlier today. He told me him and Oscar were planning on leaving first thing tomorrow morning. We all could use a bed to sleep in for the night.

After I was finished, Martin led me to the woman who was claimed to be the nurse of the town. She was an old, very old woman. She kind of reminded me of Madam Cope, but she was way older and more motherly than her.

"How can I help you, dear?" She asked when we walked in her cottage. It was filled with herbs, candles and other medicinal things I could not name. Her home was more of a healing home other than an actual home.

"I wanted to see if you could check her," Martin said, gripping my shoulders with his hands. "She's pregnant and we're worried that the things we've been through lately could cause any harm to the baby."

She nodded. "I heard. All that running and stuff from Mr. Black, you must be worried." She nodded again and looked at me. "How far are you, my dear?"
