After John met and approved the boyfriends, time seemed to fly. Soon weeks passed, then months, and then almost a year. It had been three hundred and sixty four days, 20 hours, and about thirty minutes since Dean and Cas had gotten together. About three and a half hours from now was their one year anniversary, and Dean had a plan.

Dean's POV

Cas was with Charlie, I has asked her to keep him away from home so I could prepare for mine and his one year anniversary. I'd brought down my old guitar from the attic, started cooking these amazing, elaborate homemade burgers, and hidden Cas's two gifts exactly where I wanted them. One in the glovebox of the impala, the other under the edge of my bed, barely covered by the bedskirt. I had sealed the scavenger hunt letter in an envelope, written Cas's name on it in some fancy as hell letters, (which only took an hour and five envelopes to get right) and put the envelope in a small box. I put the box on top of the fridge, then flipped the burgers. I went to the fridge and pushed aside bottles of Cas's favorite soda, pulling out a tub of ice cream I put in the fridge to soften. I opened the top on my blender, scooping ice cream into it with a bit of milk. Milkshakes for my Cas. Soon, I had it all finished, ready for our anniversary. I texted Charlie, letting her know that it was cool to bring Cas back home now. I waited for her 'On my way' text, then quickly set out all the burger ingredients, put the milkshakes in tall milkshake glasses, and pulled the grate out of the fryer, pouring perfect french fries onto a large plate, then sprinkling salt over them. I twisted the top off a two-liter of Cas's favorite soda, setting it on the counter with two sparklingly clean glasses. (Handwashed by yours truly) I grabbed my guitar and tuned it, smiling whenever a string was perfectly tuned. Then I went and stood on the porch with my guitar. Seconds later, Charlie's little Aveo pulled into my driveway. Cas got out and started up the steps. "Dean, what..?" I just smiled and started softly strumming the intro to the cutest love song I had been able to find. He looked shocked, then smiled. I took a deep breath and started singing.

"We should jerseys cause we make a good team, But yours would look better than mine, cause you're outta my league. And I know that it's so cliche to tell you that everyday I spend with you is the new best day of my life. Everyone watching us just turns away with disgust. It's Jealously, they can see that we've got it goin' on.

And I'm racking my brain for a new improved way to let you mean more to me than what I know how to say, You're OK with the way this is going to be 'cause this is going to be the best thing we've ever seen! If anyone can make me a better person you could, all I gotta say is I must've done something good, you came along one day and you rearranged my life! All I gotta say is I must've done something right, I must've done something right.

Maybe I'm just lucky cause it's hard to believe, believe that somebody like you'd end up with someone like me.

And I know that it's so cliche to talk about you this way, but I'll push all my inhibitions aside. It's so very obvious to everyone watching us, that we have got something real good going on! I'm racking my brain for a new improved way to let you know your more to me than what I know how to say, you're OK with the way this is going to be 'cause this is going to be the best thing we've ever seen!

If anyone can make me a better person you could, all I gotta say is I must've done something good, you came along one day and you rearranged my life, all I gotta say is I must've done something right, I must've done something right."

I finished the song, then set the guitar on the chair next to me. I took Castiel's hands in mine, smiling and staring into his eyes. "Castiel, today makes one year since I made the best decision of my entire life. One year since I was first able to kiss you." I paused and kissed him. "One year since I was first able to hold your hand." I paused and laced our fingers together. "One year since I was first able to call you mine..." I pulled him into my arms, smiling. "Castiel, I love you more than life itself." I whipsered, looking into his gorgeous icy blue eyes. He was smiling as he whispered "And A year since something good finally came out of me running late for class." I smiled at him, waved a thank you to Charlie, and pulled Castiel into the house. I kissed his cheek, holding his hand tightly as I tugged him toward the kitchen. His eyes went wide when he saw my elaborate setup. "Dean.. This is amazing!!" I grinned at him. "You really think so?" He turned and kissed me, standing on his toes to be tall enough. He pulled back and whispered "I love you Dean Winchester." I Smiled wider. "I love you too Castiel Novak." After we ate the amazing meal I prepared, I pulled out my fancy box and made Cas open it. He pulled the ribbon until it unraveled, sliding off the box. He pulled off the lid, setting it on the table. He pulled the letter out of the box and stopped to admire my fancy lettering before he tore open the envelope. Inside there were two slips of paper with clues on them. One slip read; 'Find your first gift in the place where we spent our first night together. He chuckled, standing up. I watched as he disappeared around the corner and reappeared minutes later with a small box in his hand. His cheeks were flushed slightly. I smiled, happy that I could do something he thought was cute. "Open it." I said, standing next to him. He untied the ribbon, letting it fall to the table. I watched as he slowly slid the top of the box off and into the table. He pushed back the carefully folded tissue paper, revealing a thin metal chain with a small charm attached. I reached past huim and lifted it out of the box, then after a moment of fumbling with the clasp, I fastened the necklace around his neck. He lifted the charm up with one hand, staring at it in awe. "It's beautiful..." It was a small angel wing with a magnet attached the the base of the wing. I pulled a matching necklace out from under my shirt, bringing it next to Cas's necklace so that the magnets connected. "I was going to get heart necklaces, but this seemed more appropriate, because you're my angel." His face flushed bright red, his eyes flashing love. I kissed him gently, smiling at him. He wrapped his hand around the charm, taking a deep breath. " I lifted the envelope. "There's still one more clue." I whispered. He slipped his hand into the envelope, pulling out the second clue. It read; 'This second gift is hidden where I first sang to you.' Again, I watched as he walked away. Soon, he returned with another box. His fingers fumbled with the knot in the bow, but finally got the knot loosened enough to untie the bow. I Bit my lip in anticipation as he pulled out a letter that had been carefully fit into the box. He pulled it out and read it carefully. When he finished, his eyes widened. He looked at me and whispered; "Is this right..? Is.." I nodded. "It came in three days ago." He grinned and set the letter down on the edge of the table before throwing his arms around me and kissing me hard. As I kissed him back, My acceptance letter to the college Cas was going to fluttered to the ground.
