Sherrie's POV
It was the day before my due date, but apparently my baby didn't know that. It started with a pain in my pelvis, then grew to a stabbing feeling, then white-hot burning... Then my water broke. I snatched my cell phone and called Dean.
D- "Hello?"
S- "It's time!"
D- "Son of a bitch... I'll be there in ten minutes!"
The phone beeped as he hung up, and I sat down heavily, panting heavily as I gritted my teeth through a painful contraction.
Dean's POV
I tore through the apartment, grabbing my jacket and yelling loudly; "CAS, IT'S TIME!!!" He barreled down the steps with wide eyes, Grabbing his keys and stuffing them in his pocket. I grabbed Baby's keys, then pulled Cas's hand into mine. Together, we ran to the Impala. I let go of his hand and unlocked he car, sliding into the seat. I slammed the door, then twisted the engine to life. As soon as we both had our seatbelts on, I tore out of the parking lot, speeding toward Sherrie's house. We arrived in just under seven minutes, and I ran to the front door. Cas waited in the running car, while I went into the house to help Sherrie into the backseat of the Impala. I pulled her into my arms, despite her protests, as soon as we were on level ground, jogging smoothly to my car. As soon as she was in the backseat, we sped toward the hospital. Pulling into the parking lot, I jumped out of the car and helped Sherrie out, then scooped her into my arms again. She was groaning in pain, too distracted to protest. Cas followed as I ran her into the hospital, carrying her to the front desk. The nurse took one look at her and ran to make sure they had a delivery room prepped and ready. We got her signed in and a male nurse wheeled her to a delivery room in a wheelchair. We were requested to stay in the waiting room to fill out papers. We filled them out as fast as possible, then I took Cas's hand and we went to the front desk to ask about her. All they could tell us was that it was going to be at least another two or three hours and she didn't want anyone in the delivery room with her. It seemed that she hadn't told her father or mother that she was in labor, because Cas and I were the only ones there for her. At least, I hoped she hadn't told them, because the alternative was them just deciding not to show up for their daughter. Cas and I ended up sitting in the waiting room, a dangerous mixture of nervous, excited, and bored, For three and a half hours. Let's just say, the batteries in our phones went down a lot during that time. Luckily, the hospital understood. There were outlets spread out across the wall.
Cas's POV
When the nurse called us to come meet our little baby, I froze. I was excited, but terrified. I couldn't move, feet frozen to the floor. In the end, Dean grabbed my hand to snap me out of it. I got to my feet, legs unsteady. I willingly followed him as he pulled me down the hallway toward the little nursery room where they put all the newborns. A nurse walked up to us with a smile on her face. "Hello! You two are Castiel and Dean Winchester?" Dean nodded. She broke into a wide grin and walked over to the pane of glass separating us from the child we would raise. "Your little one is front and center here." She said, gesturing to a small bundle of pink blankets wrapped around a small baby girl. She had a small shock of light brown hair. And her half-open eyes were a pretty chocolate brown. My eyes stung with tears I refused to let fall and I bit my lip. Dean's grip on my hand tightened, his eyes bright. He cleared his throat and blinked hard. "That's our baby?" He asked in a rough voice. The nurse nodded. "When" He paused to cough and blink again. "How long before we can take her home?" The nurse bit her lip and glanced at the baby. "Well, first, you have to name her." Dean looked almost shocked. "I almost forgot about that part." He chuckled. He squeezed my hand and looked over at me. "Cas... Can we name her Mary?" I looked at him with wide eyes. There was a half sad, half happy sparkle in his eyes. I gave him a small smile and nodded. "Yes. Mary." He gave me a grateful smile. "You pick her middle name, okay?" I nodded. After a few second of thinking, I gave Dean a small smile. "Miracle." Was all I said. Dean smiled back at me. "Mary Miracle Winchester." He whispered, forming the words delicately, as if he was in awe of them. The nurse went into the nursery and lifted her into her arms. She wrapped the soft looking pink blanket more firmly around the small form, then brought her out and laid her gently into Dean's arms, grinning. I slid my arm around Dean's waist and stood on my toes to look over his bent arm. The sight of our little girl in Dean's arms took my breath away. Dean finally let a single tear run down his cheek. "Hey there, welcome to the world Mary Miracle Winchester."
