Dean's POV

The day had finally arrived. Castiel Novak and Dean Winchester were graduating from college. You heard it right, today is commencement!! We were an hour away from the start of the ceremony. Cas and I were dressed in the same kind of clothes he had us dress in for prom, with our caps and gowns on over top. Sammy and Gabriel would be there, but my dad.. He had never answered when I asked if he would be there, which means he wouldn't be there... I slapped myself mentally and forced the thought away. 'Be strong for Sammy, and have some fun. Cas can not be brought down by you, especially today.' I smiled at myself in the mirror, and actually started to feel a little happier. Of course, that may have something to do with the picture of me and Cas kissing that I had taped to the frame of my mirror. I rubbed some gel between my hands, then pushed my fingers through my hair. Then after fifteen minutes of trying to put in my contacts, I finally succeeded. I normally would've just worn my glasses, but I wanted to look my best to get my picture taken with Cas, us both holding our diplomas. I checked myself once more in the mirror, then walked over to the bathroom, where Cas was getting ready. The door stood open slightly, and Cas stood at the sink, messing with his hair. He swiped it one way, then the other, then threw his hands up in frustration. I knocked on the door frame, then walked into the room. I took Cas's hand, then smiled. I lifted a hand and quickly brushed Cas's hair into place. "No need to get frustrated, it's fixed." I murmured, kissing his forehead. "You were overthinking it." He gave me a small smile, then kissed me. "I love you Dean." He whispered. "I love you too Cas." I replied, staring softly into his gorgeous blue eyes. We leaned in to.kiss, but suddenly the door flew open and Charlie stood there grinning. "Come on guys, I wanna see you two graduate!!! Time to go bitches!" I laced my fingers with Cas's, turning to face Charlie. "Nice to see you Charlie." I smiled, walking with Cas toward commencement. Toward our futures. I knew then that Cas and I would spend the rest of our lives together. Nothing would split us up. I smiled and squeezed his hand gently as we went to wait for our names to be called. We sat boredly through most of the alphabet, then finally the Dean's voice called out "Castiel Jimmy Novak." Cas walked out to receive his diploma, a proud smile on his lips. He shook hands with the dean, took the paper that he was handed, and flipped the tassel on his cap. He went to go sit where the others were, smiling at me as he took his seat. More time passed, more names were called, and then it was finally my turn. "Dean Samuel Winchester." I let my lips twitch upward into a prideful grin, walking out to accept my diploma. I shook hands with the dean, nodding at his whisper of congratulations, then walked down and took my seat. Two more names were called, two more happy people graduated, and two more seats were taken. The Dean stood at the podium and announced our class, then grinned and threw his hands up, as we all threw our caps up. The two who had tied for valedictorian made their speeches. The families flooded those who had just finished college. I grinned as Sammy came up and threw his arms around me, looking down on me. Yeah, the little brat had gotten taller than me. He hugged me tight, then spent the next ten minutes telling me how proud he was, and how amazing he was. Gabriel stood next to him, watching me and Sam with a small smile on his face. He twirled a lollipop between his fingers, then gave me a nod. Sam let go and took a step back, grinning. "Congrats." Gabriel said. I smiled. "Thanks." I felt a hand slide down my arm.and fingers slip between mine. I turned and grabbed Cas's other hand, grinning at him. "Cas, we just graduated from College." I murmured. He smiled and nodded. "Yeah, we did." I frowned in concern. His lips smiled, but his eyes were dark and unsparkling. "Cas, what's wrong?" I asked. He shook his head. "Nothing, I'm fine. I raised an eyebrow at him. "Cas, come on." He just sighed and shrugged. "Just kinda with I had a family here." I pulled him into my arms and for the first time in four years, I kissed him in front of the entire student body. People made excited squealing noises. Oh great, fangirls.. I cupped his.cheek gently with my hand, staring into his eyes. "I know it might not be good enough, but you have me and Sammy and Gabriel. We're all a ragtag kind of family." He smiled, then kissed me again. "Where's your dad?" I sighed. "He's not here. Guess he decided he had better things to do then watch his oldest son graduate." Cas sighed. "I'm sorry." I shrugged and smiled. "You're here Cas. And Sam's here and that's honestly all I need."
