Dean's POV

As we walked into the school building, we got plenty of surprised and confused stares, but I held my head high and ignored them. Cas seemed pretty calm, but I'm not gonna lie. I was worried he was gonna freak. O tightened my grip on his hand, reassuringly. Heads turned as we walked past. Followed as we stopped at my locker and then his, never releasing each others' hands. I told myself that it didn't matter what anyone thought, and I managed to convince myself that it was true. We had a different first period, so I kissed him goodbye at the doorway to his first class, then smiled as I turned and walked toward my own class. One of my football buddies, Carter, came up to me and grabbed my shoulder. "What the hell man? Are you turning into a fag now?" I glared at him. "No. I am bisexual, and I just happen to be dating a guy right now. He makes me happy, and if you're truly my friend then that's all you should care about." He shook his head. "Nah. I ain't friends with no damn faggots." He shoved me into the lockers as he turned to stalk away. I smacked the back of my head off the lockers, and my vision went red. I felt so mad.. And next thing I knew, I had Carter against the wall, my arm pressed against his throat. "Touch me again, I'll kill you. Touch my boyfriend, I'll torture you and then kill you." I drew my arm back from his throat and walked down the hall, slipping into my desk in math class just as the bell rang. A sense of calm washed over me as I pulled out my note book and started doing sketches of Cas. I wasn't the best artist, but maybe if I kept trying I'd get lucky and do one good enough to give Cas. I carefully drew out his strong jawline and his slightly squinted eyes. I steadily traced out the shape of his slightly pouted lips, then the straight lines of his nose. I looked at the paper, then let out a disgusted sigh and balled up the paper. Already not good enough. I brushed off the next page and started again, this time attempting a side profile. This seemed to be easier for me. Or at least, I thought it did until I screwed up my next ten tries. I let out a frustrated growl, lowering my head onto the notebook. A redheaded girl wearing a Gryffindor house hogwarts shirt was sitting next to me. She leaned toward me, sliding a slip of paper onto my desk. I opened the note and read; 'Having trouble with your picture?' I nodded, writing a 'Definitely.' on the slip before passing it back. She smiled and pulled a page out of her notebook. She wrote for a.coyple minutes, then slid it to my desk. I unfolded it and smoothed it out. 'Who ya drawing? My name's Charlie btw' I decided to take a chance, she seemed nice. 'My boyfriend, Castiel. And I'm Dean.' She looked at the paper, then grinned. When the note was passed back to me, it was covered in her messy writing. Oh my god, that's so cute!! He must be like, so lucky to have a boyfriend as awesome as you! I know my girlfriend would flip if I drew a picture of her!' I was surprised, and had to read the last sentence three times just to be sure I had read it right. I smiled, then wrote back. 'Whats she like?' We spent to rest of the class talking about her girlfriend and my boyfriend, building the foundation for a strong new friendship. We exchanged phone numbers right before the bell rang, then walked together to Cas's class to pick him up. Him and I had the next class together, and Charlie wanted to meet the adorable boyfriend I was so enamored with. Charlie and I walked up to Cas, and he glanced back and forth between me and Charlie in surprise. "Hey Cas, I want you to meet Charlie. She was talking to me about her girlfriend during math." I said. His glance immediately softened to a friendly half-smile. "Nice to meet you Charlie. I'm Castiel Novak." Cas and I walked Charlie to her next class, then continued to our own class. Before we knew it, Cas has Charlie's number, Charlie had Cas's, and the school day was over. After school, I called Sam. "Hey Sammy, Gabriel coming home with you tonight?" He told me no, Gabriel had a family thing tonight. "Alright, then we're taking a friend over to her girlfriend's house." Sam chuckled and said okay. Cas and I snagged Charlie from her last class and brought her out to the parking lot. "And this, my friend, is my baby. She's a '67 Chevy Impala, given to me by my father." Charlie took a good long look at the car, then smiled. "Awesome!!" I smiled and openwd Cas's door, then Charlie's, then my own. I slid in behind the wheel, twisting my key in the ignition. I smiled as the engine purred to life. A few seconds later, Sammy opened his door and got in. "Hey. Charlie, this is my little brother Sammy. Sammy, this is our new friend Charlie." They said their hellos as I pulled out of the school parking lot, headed toward Charlie's girlfriend's house to drop her off.
