Dean's POV

Today, Gabriel Came to me to ask me a question. He had a smile on his face abd a spring in his step. He clutched a small box in his hand. "Dean. I know you don't really know me as the serious type, and I know you don't really know me all that well, but I want you to know something. I love your brother. I love him with all my heart, and I want to ask him to marry me. I want to ask you for your blessing. Now, I know you're normally supposed to ask the father, but I know for a fact that your opinion means a hell of a lot more to Sam than your father's opinion. So Dean, do I have your blessing to marry your brother?" Right then, I pulled Gabriel into a hug. The first time I'd ever hugged him. When I drew back, I smiled. "You have my blessing. Marry him." This time it was him who hugged me. We sat and talked for a few hours, and he showed me the ring. It was just a simple silver band with an engraving along the inside. In Gabriel's slightly cramped handwriting, it read; 'My Sugar' with a small heart engraved at the end of the words. It was perfect for them. I smiled and told him so. "Hey Dean," He asked "Do you want to bring Cas and come to dinner with me and Sam tonight? I want you to be there when I propose." I just smiled and nodded. I was honored to be invited.

A few hours later, Cas and I were walking out to the car to meet up with Sam and Gabe. We had agreed to meet up at the Gas N' Sip near the apartment, leave Cas's car there, and all go in Gabe's car. When we got there, Sam and Gabe were waiting. We talked for a few minutes, then piled into their car. While we drove, Gabe played music from his favorite band, Asia. Sam hated Asia, and always complained when Gabe played it, but today he didn't. I guess there was a feeling in the air that told him not to complain. You could literally feel the happy excitement in the air.

When Gabe pulled up to one of the nicer restaurants around town, I was a tiny bit surprised. I had thought he was going to go to the same place we always went, a small restaurant that specalized in desserts. Sam was staring up at the place, a goofy smile on his face. He turned to Gabe and asked; "Is this..?" Gabe nodded, then turned back to Cas and I. "This was the place I took Sam on our first date." He said, smiling.

We all piled out of the car and into the restaurant. Gabe had made reservations, so we were shown to our table right away. Gabe had one hand holding Sam's, the other thrust into his pocket, most likely clutching the ring box. I offered Cas my hand, and he took it, lacing our fingers together. We got to our table and all sat down, Cas and I on one side of the table, Sam and Gabe on the other. We all studied the menus for a few minutes, then spoke to the waitress.
"Hello, my name is Jess, Do you all knkw what you want to order, or do you need a few minutes?" We were all ready to order. Jess wrote down our food orders, then asked what we wanted to drink. She wrote that down on the other side of that paper. When she finished, she smiled at Sam and walked away. Sam reached over to take Gabe's hand again, shaking his head and chuckling. Cas's hand still held tight to mine, the excitement that I could feel from Gabe making me smile. I was glad that my brother was going to get to be with this person he loved. I mean, if he wanted to. If he said yes. I was pretty sure he would.

About fifteen minutes later, our food came. Jess set up a stand and laid the serving platter on top of it. "Okay. Who had the burger with everything?" I lifted my hand, and was rewarded with a hot plate of burger set in front of me. "The plain burger?" That one was Cas. "The Caesar Salad?" Sam, of course. "And I guess this is yours?" She asked Gabriel, gesturing to a medium hot fudge sundae. He nodded, and she slid it onto the table. "Alright then, enjoy your meal!" she walked away, winking at Sam this time. Sam looked at Gabe, squeezing his hand before letting go to eat his salad. I happily tore into my burger, and Cas did the same, though somewhat less... Messy...

Gabe started spooning the icecream and hot fudge inti his mouth, smiling like a child. Sam got started stabbing his salad onto his fork, a contented smile on his face. We all made short work of our food, and by the time Jess came back to check on us, we were finished. "Did anyone else save room for dessert?" she asked, raising her eyebrows and looking specifically at Sam. He reached over and took Gabe's hand, then said "Um, I'm good." Gabe ordered an ice cream brownie, laughing as Sam started lecturing him on health. I got a slice of pie, and Cas decided not to get anything. She nodded, casting her eyes to the floor after seeing Sam and Gabriel's fingers intertwined. It was only a few minutes before we had our desserts, and not long before we finished them off. Gabriel was sitting on the outer edge of his and Sam's booth, so once the table was cleared, he pulled Sam out of the booth with him. "Sam. We met six years ago, we've been together for five years, and this is where we had our first date. In that time, we've had many dates, a few fights, many lectures from you about health, lectures from me about enjoying some good food once in a while, you helped me realize my dream of opening my own candy shop, even while still going to college. You've been yhere for me more than I think you realize. We've had good times, we've had bad times, and we've even broken up twice. We always seem to find our way back to each other, like we're meant to be. Honestly, I never thought we would last this long, because I thought you would find someone better than me. But Sam, I'm not scared of that anymore. I'm not scared about that, because," He paused, got down on one knee, and pulled out the ring. As he lifted the lid to show Sam the ring, he said these six words. "I want you to marry me. So, Samuel Dean Winchester, will you marry me?" Sam could barely get the yes out of his mouth, tears threatening to spill from his eyes. Gabe pulled the ring from the box and slid it onto Sam's finger, his eyes a little wet as well. Sam pulled Gabe to his feet and kissed him, right there in the middle of the restaurant. The entire place had been watching, and they all clapped and cheered. Sam stared down at the ring in wonder, a goofy grin on his face.

A week later, Sam came over to show me that he had finally gotten Gabe's ring engraved. It read; 'All I need' with a small drawing of a feather quill at the end. It was, once again, perfect for the two of them.
