I sit with my back against the wall, trying to listen in to Tyler and Josh's conversation. Tyler had told me he would try to soothe the rough edges, even though it would be painful.
The walls were fairly thin, so I could decipher the majority of their conversation.

"Josh, how about me and Olivia stop making excuses for a second so you can understand we really like each other. Do you understand this isn't just to spite you?"

"Yes, of course I get that, Tyler!"

"Then can you try to see our side of the story? We like each other, and I know you know the feeling of wanting to chase after the person you've developed feelings for. It happens Josh, I'm sorry you had to find out in such a rough manner."

It was silent, like Josh's anger engines were running down. "I just wanna lay down..."

"W-Why?" Tyler's worried voice frantically asks.

"Cause things are too fast now."

I open the door to the dressing room and walk in, glad they calmed the waters before the show. It isn't anywhere near time to perform, but rehearsal has just ended. I can speak for everyone in the stadium and say rehearsal was uncomfortable.

"Just tell me one thing," Josh says, looking back and forth between me and Tyler. "When did you plan to tell me?"

Me and Tyler glance at each other before returning back to his sagging posture.

"Soon enough, we had been talking about it. Maybe waiting till the end of the tour." I inform him.

"Oh..." He says quietly, ruffling his hair. "I'm going to go take a nap before the show."
We nod and he leaves. I turn back to Tyler with a smile.

"Wanna go see a movie?" He abruptly asks, flashing a smirk. "First date redo?"

"Kinda soon, don't you think? We literally just got Josh's approval." I tell him, rubbing my forearm.

"Well, how long do you want to wait?" He asks me, swaying a little bit. I can tell the encounter with Josh bothered him, so he probably wants to focus on something more positive. I'm proud of Tyler, not letting the negatives get the best of him.

"Until..." I trail off, bring up my wrist to my face, tracing my fingers over an imaginary wrist-watch. "Now!" I say, grabbing his hand and running out of the room. I don't stop running until we are out of the venue, in the open. I can date him in public now... the thought feels so enlightening!

Tyler scrolls through his phone, likely looking for the nearest theater.

"There's one right around the block." He tells me, giving my hand a slight squeeze. "You think clique members will be there?" He asks, turning his head to face me.

"Possibly, but that'll make me much more happy."

"Really, how so?"

"I won't feel like all my thoughts are locked in anymore. People can actually see us!" I exclaim, emphasizing with excited facial expressions. He chuckles, beginning to walk down the long sidewalk. "Are you nervous?" I ask after a few seconds.

"A tad." He says looking at his feet. "Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic we can be together without worrying but, I don't know."

"Do you think the clique won't like me?" I ask, lessening my grip on his hand.

"No! Not at all, they're supportive. I just know when they see me with someone they tear the thought to parts to get the the very core of the relationship. I'm scared what they might do with news of me and you."

"Ship us, probably? Just because they're intense doesn't mean they're cruel." I say giggling. "You think too much, let's just go and think about us."

He nods and we set off, my smile brighter than the sun.

I gaze at Olivia, admiring every one of her features. Her light brown hair blowing in the wind, strands falling in her lovely green eyes.

Her tan skin complimenting every detail, she was so unique. Instead of a pale, fragile girl with a big ego, she was a strong, independent girl who hid her emotions so well you might think she could rule anything with enough courage.

I want so bad to cup her jaw and tell her she is so important to me, I want to let her know that even though I don't have much will, I have enough for at least her. Her head turns, her face contorting before she breaks into laughter.

"You okay?" She asks, her brilliant smile erasing any thought in my head.

"Yes." I reply, snapping my head back forwards.

I don't like expressing emotions, what if someone takes them for advantage and use them against me? It hurts, all these thoughts in my head. It hurts, only few could understand.

"Oh, there it is!" Her pristine voice announces as we turn a sharp corner looking out to the theater.

I clutch her hand as we approach the building, smiling at all our options. "Vacation!" She exclaims, pointing at the option hanging above our heads.

"Two adult tickets for Vacation, please." I tell the lady behind the plexiglas with a small smile, slipping the money through the slot.

"Adults." Olivia scoffed, crossing her arms.

"Adults." I tell her, wrapping an arm around her waist once receiving our tickets. "Popcorn, soda?" I ask her, walking to the concessions.

"Nah, I just ate lunch." She tells me.

"Suit yourself." I reply, knowing well she doesn't want to ask for food but would appreciate the snacks. "One large popcorn and two medium Cokes." I request, placing a twenty on the counter.

"Tyler, I..." She begins, rubbing her neck.

"I know you, Olivia. Well enough." I inform her, handing her a Coke and grabbing the popcorn and the other Coke. "Lego!" I announce setting forth to our scene room.

All throughout the movie my ears were reminded by the angelic sound of Olivia's laugh. It was magical, not the movie, not her laugh, but being able to sit by her without the awful feeling of separation.

Her face illuminated by the screen, her smile more attention worthy than the million dollar movie itself.

She catches my stare once again, lending me a small smile. Without much warning, I suddenly lean over and plant a kiss on her plump lips. I didn't even expect it, my buried thoughts finally found a way to control me.

This has never happened, a random kiss. We are only ever more than chummy when one of us are in emotional pain, but this... this felt better. Like any reason at all gave us justification to love each other.
I can tell she is too a bit startled by the action, but leans into it quickly enough.

"Break it up kids." An usher commands us, making my cheeks burn bright. I briskly pull away, staring at my lap. Once the lady's footsteps were far gone, I finally decided to look at Olivia.

"I'm so sorry." I tell her, grabbing her hands.

"What was that kiss for?" She asks me.

"Your lips were looking a bit chapped." I inform her, turning back to the screen.
