I jitter like an excited little girl, my arms shaking and my legs bouncing. The sun shines through the large panes of glass overlooking the landing strip and a couple of planes. A handful of people spill out of the plane I can't quite remove my eyes from, the plane that holds the person I love most.
My mother sits by me and massages my shoulders, attempting to calm me.
I cover my face, also trying to calm myself. "I can't believe I'm finally about to see him." I exclaim, my voice muffled by my hands shielding my face.
I wait impatiently and my heart beats out of my chest, all I can think about is his chocolate brown eyes and his soft, cozy voice.
A tap on my shoulder erupts my thoughts, and expecting it to be my mom I lift my head and turn.
A world of emotional brown eyes face me and a beautiful art piece is smiling right at me. His sharp jaw line forms into a shake, his happiness likely getting the better of him.
"Tyler!" I croak, my voice sore from all the days I've recently been spending in a welcoming studio, offering me every fulfillment I need for my possible music career.
"Olivia," He whispers with a notable lump in his throat, pulling me to his chest with strong arms. I pull myself out of the seat, burying my nose in his shoulder.
"God knows, I've missed you." I tell him, clawing at the fabric of his inside-out shirt. I rub his back from under his jacket, letting the soft cotton comfort my newly callused fingers.
He pulls away from me, cupping my chin in his gentle hands. I try to keep a straight face, but when I look into his beautiful, powerful eyes I can't hold myself from a smile.
I relocate my hands to the collar of his black jacket, fumbling with it in nervousness.
He leans forward almost slow-motion, everything seems to be going so sluggish. I want to just tackle him with hugs and admiration but I'm scared... we haven't seen each other in over two months and now that he is here everything feels unreal.
Yet, what good is life if you don't pursue what you desire?
I push myself towards him, wrapping my hands around his neck. Tuffs of his hair slip through my fingers, the light strands reminding me that this is not a dream.
"Okay, okay." A joking voice announces, me and Tyler awkwardly pulling away from each other.
We're magnets, really. You can pull us apart but we will eventually return to our original position.
"Hey, Josh." I say, a light blush spreading across my cheeks from embarrassment.
He spreads his arms open wide, knowing full well I need one of his famous hugs. As I embrace Josh all I can think about is how much I've missed both him and Tyler... the months of sitting in my room and staring at my ceiling, the months of repeating songs in the studio to improve. The months of loneliness.
"So, what's the plan?" I ask.
"Tyler, here, is taking you out for dinner tonight, so I'll probably just go catch up with some other friends." Josh tells me as he unwraps his arms from me.
"Wait, I- I don't wanna cut you out." I reply with a frown, crossing my arms.
"No, it's fine. I need to hit up some people anyways." Josh reassures me with a smile, walking towards the luggage belt. Tyler follows suit, retrieving his suitcase.
