Chapter 6.

Fuad's POV

I was disappointed with Delnaz. I thought that she'd be more understanding about the entire situation. Besides, I had other things to deal with...

"Fuad."

"Yes Mom?"

"We need money, child. I'm afraid the time has come..."

"Right." Mother handed me a newspaper. Page 27, the job section.

"Hello Zulfiyya Rezazadeh from Az.Tech speaking. How may I help?"

"Good day ma'am. It's Fuad Altan. I read your ad for a vacancy at Az.Tech and I'm interested."

"You can call me Zulfiyya and I'll set an appointment with Mr. Abacı for you. Have you sent your CV in?"

"I was hoping to email it to you perhaps?"

"Sure. Our address is aztech.corp@gmail.com."

"Thank you, Zufliyya."

"It's my pleasure. Have a good day."

"You too." I cut the call and checked my texts. There were 3 missed calls from Rizvan and a text from Cihan on our football team's group chat.

Cihan: Coach said to tell you guys there's a match next Saturday. Training goes from tomorrow evening right till Saturday.

I rolled my eyes. I loved football but training was becoming a bit harsh. Coach Ilhan was really giving our team hell. I pushed my thoughts aside and called Rizvan back.

"Hey man. What's going on?"

"What did you do or say to Delnaz?"

"I-"

"She was crying this morning right before class. The last person she was with was you."

"Did she say anything about me?"

"No but it was pretty evident that you said something to her." I told Rizvan what happened. My chest tightened at the thought of Delnaz crying because of me...

"You should not have done that. Can you be that stupid, Fuad?!"

"I told you what she said to me. It's as if everything our group does has something to do with her."

"Listen, Fuad, I know Delnaz. She's anything but self-centered and on the night of the prank, the boys and I stayed back to see what would happen at her house. We waited amongst the shrubbery. Delnaz got into quiet a bit of trouble. We saw her father giving her a huge lecture. The way she reacted was understandable dude." I felt really stupid now. I needed to speak to Delnaz.

"Can I have her number?"

"Whose?"

"Delnaz's, who else's?" I rolled my eyes.

"Sorry..." Rizvan muttered on the other end of the line.

"You can be such a blondie sometimes."

Delnaz's POV

"Yes?"

"Hi...Delnaz?"

"Um yes?" I struggled to keep my phone between my ear and my shoulder while doing the dishes.

"Delnaz!" I turned around, my neck began to ache. I washed my hands and wiped them on a rough dishcloth. I frowned and cut the call.

"Yes, Mother?"

"Your phone will fall into the sink, child. Be careful."

"Ok." I went back to finishing off the last of the utensils and picked my phone up off the kitchen table.
2 missed calls from unknown.
I hit the call-back button.
