Chapter 15.
Delnaz's POV
After a long, tedious registration we loaded our luggage, then ourselves onto the bus. It was akward being around Fuad after I embarrassingly broke down in his arms so we sat as faraway from them as possible, putting Zulfiyya in a bad mood since Zülfü ended up sitting with Fuad. Zulfiyya sat down next to the window, I sat in the middle and Yıldız, who was chattering away with Cihan, sat at the end of our three-seater row on the left of the bus while her boyfriend sat on the three-seater across the aisle. Zulfiyya wanted to enjoy the sunshine. I just wanted to stay away from Fuad and his friends.
"When is this damn bus gonna get moving?" Zuzu muttered beside me.
I shook my head and took in my surroundings. Noisy teenagers laughed and talked. There were few people who weren't from Antalya High that were on the bus, including Zulfiyya and Zülfü. Everyone was excited and in the mood. I felt like such a spoilsport for being unhappy while everyone else was ecstatic to be leaving Antalya for once.
Mrs. Godul, our evil head of grade stepped onto the bus, causing a sheet of silence to befall the students. "Now, then," Mrs. Godul eyed every single one of us, even the students right at the back. "Two students are missing-"
"Mrs. Godul," Aynur stepped onto the bus, panting. "We're sorry for the delay, Feriha and I had a bit of an issue to deal with-"
Mrs Godul stared annoyedly at her victims. "Very well, find yourselves decent seats."
The twin girls gazed around the bus, obviously searching for seats where they could sit together. They took their time, refusing to be separated.
"Mrs Godul," Feriha squeaked. "We've never been separated. How could we possibly-"
"Stop with your fussing and just find seats, will you?" Mrs. Godul snapped.
"Feriha, you can take mine and Zülfü's seats." Fuad spoke up from his and Zülfü's four-seater which was towards the front of the bus.
A few seconds after Fuad spoke up, the two girls sitting on the other side of Cihan and Yıldız stood up. Naz and Nurten were also twins in our grade and were Aynur and Feriha's best friends. So very typical.
"Fuad," Nurten, the more bold of the two, spoke up. "You and that guy," she said, scowling at Zülfü, can take our places. We'd like to sit next to Aynur and Feriha."
"Sure ladies." Fuad smiled. He and Zülfü stood to the side and watched as the pair of twins happily reunited. They then walked towards us.
Zulfiyya must have been paying attention to the commotion because her head snapped up as she noticed her boyfriend and Fuad walking towards us. She gave me a pleading look. I understood what she wanted.
Fuad's POV
The twins happened to have been sitting next to Cihan and Yıldız. When Zülfü and I got to the back of the bus, Zulfiyya stood up and moved in between us. Delnaz let her pass. She sat next to Zülfu on the other side of Cihan.
"Bro," Cihan whispered to me. "Can Yıldız and I sit on the other side of Delnaz?"
I let Cihan pass me. He sat at the window seat that Zulfiyya left vacant while his girlfriend and Delnaz swapped places. Yıldız sat down next to Cihan and their chatter picked up immediately from where it had stopped.
Delnaz, on the other hand, seemed uncomfortable. We sat at the end of our rows with just the walk way between us. She didn't look my way, not once.
I decided to break the silence. I leaned in and said in a small voice, "Delnaz," I began. "Are you mad at me?"
I saw the beatiful girl's eyes widen as if she were scared of something. She turned to me with a fearful expression plastered on her face, looked down and spoke quickly. "No. Of course not." Delnaz then turned away and continued to stare into the back of the seat in front of her.
