Chapter 27.
Fuad's POV
The man I needed to talk to, was Rizvan Volkan. Rizvan was my best friend ever since he and a wide group of people from one of the uptown preschools moved downtown when they realised that school fees in their area were too high for their likings. Rizvan, however, knew Delnaz since they were nine. When school fees in their area skyrocketed when they were 9 years old, Rizvan, Delnaz, Orhan and Adem moved to the primary school I went to; Antalya Prepatory School. I fell in love with Delnaz despite us never being close. We were always in separate classes and we had separate friend circles. Rizvan always used to sit with Delnaz and Yıldız during breaktimes but moved to our group when his testosterone properly kicked in. He also happened to share his love and interests in football with us, guys. Thank goodness for that.
Rizvan and I grew really close, especially since we were the most passionate about football. He even overtook Cihan in that department. This is why I was close enough to Rizvan to be able to seek relationship advice from him.
Feeling nervous, I built up the courage to drive my not too shabby car to his posh apartment building uptown. My volkswagen was alright. In fact, it was simple- sexy. All in all, it's beautiful exterior allowed it to fit in with the rest of the fast monsters that owned the streets in this classy part of Antalya. I honestly yearned to live in this place one day. Aunt Nigar always made sure to tell me that I had the potential to do great things. She also said that following my dreams was one of them.
I drove my car to the entrance of the building and stopped at the boom gates. I didn't have an access key as I was not a resident. The security guard on duty walked around to my side of the car. Men in uniform. Something about them turned (some or is it all?) women on. However, they just ticked us, average guys, off.
"Hi. Are you visiting?"
I nodded and continued to take the pen, then the book that I needed to sign in order to get into the building. The guard, Ayaan, then took the book back, tore out a slip and handed it to me.
"This needs to be signed by the resident you visit and then you must return it to whichever person is on duty here."
Being preoccupied with my thoughts and everything, it took me while to register what Ayaan said. Nearly at the point of frustration, he was about to repeat himself when I thanked him for his time and asked him where I should park my car. Ayaan gave me quick directions and in no time, I found myself locking my car. I paused to admire it before finding an elevator to go to the fifth floor.
This was the first time that I had driven myself to Rizvan's place. Usually, he was the one to drive me here for various reasons. Rizvan always had his car because unlike me, he lived uptown, rather far from Antalya High, he also just drove me and whoever else into the building because he didn't want us to beat ourselves up over driving all the way to his place and then get interrogated by the building's security. So considerate.
Well, now, it was my turn to be considerate.
Speaking of consideration, some very inconsiderate person was holding up the elevator. After what seemed like an infinity, the floating, mechanical box arrived at the basement level. To my dismay, a bunch of guys were moving quite a bit of furniture out the building. This made me thankful for my part-time job as a call centre consultant.
I stepped to the side and waited for the guys to finish offloading the elevator. One would have thought that the dismantled wardbobe was actually a treehouse. Rich people.
"Look here, Khan, if you can't manage, I'll take over from here," A man with a thick Indian accent said.
My eyes landed on Khan, a tiny, caramel-skinned man with jet black hair. He looked good, his height just made searching for the deep voice that belonged to him a tad more difficult than usual.
