Chapter 16.

Fuad's POV

Rizvan, Orhan and I helped get the girls' bags out the bus. Feriha and Aynur walked passed us. Aynur discreetly pushed her twin towards Rizvan who happened to have been turning around, swinging a large bag as he did so.

"Ouch!"

Rizvan dropped to his knees to help Feriha, who had gotten a blow to the head, up. She was unconcious.

"Allah! Oh no...Feriha, I'm so sorry." Aynur began to sob. She followed Rizvan to get medical help for her sister. Orhan and I continued to offload people's luggage. I was done with my side of the bus so I stepped aside for people to find their belongings. I whipped my phone out my pocket and began to dial Aunt Nigar.

"Hello? Fuad, dear, how was the trip?" Aunt Nigar sounded more enthusiastic than I did.

"It was good thanks, Aunty. How's Mother?"

"That's great, dear! Who? Oh, Irem. She's good. We just had facials done earlier today and-"

"Cool uhm, can I speak to her?" I was getting really impatient with Aunty.

"Sure. Let me call her," I heard Aunt Nigar's muffled voice on the other end of the line. "Irem! Fuad has called!"

After a bit of rustling in the background, my mother's sweet voice spoke. "Hello?"

"Hi, Mother. It's me, Fuad."

"Hello, son. How are you?"

"Good, just tired. It was a long journey."

"Oh well," Mother laughed and breathed a sigh of relief before continuing with her interrogation. "Did you have lunch?"

I took a deep breath in. "Yes, Mother," I lied. "Lunch was great. We stopped at Go. My friends and I all had lunch together."

"Good. Have a good supper. Enjoy your camp, Fuad. Be a good boy."

"Yeah...Bye. I love you."

Mother said goodbye and Aunt Nigar piped up as soon as she got her phone back. "Fuad! Have a good trip, darling! Remember, always make sure your hair is perfect, girls love perfect ha-"

"Yeah, bye, Aunty." I cut the call and shoved my phone back into my jeans pocket.

As long as mother is safe.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a group of girls wedged in a small space between the two buses. They were staring directly at me and whispering. As soon as I looked in their direction, they giggled and turned away.

Girls.

"Fuad! Have you seen Rizvan anywhere?" Mazhar walked towards me.

I told Mazhar about Rizvan mistakely hitting Feriha in the face with a bag.

"Ouch..." He commented. "I'll go find him. By the way, you might want to find out where the girls' dorms are." He winked at me and disappeared soon after. I knew Mazhar loved getting on girls' nerves.

Delnaz's POV

The scenic hills in the distance reminded me of Azerbaijan, where I spent the first 7 years of my childhood. As we walked to our dorms, I took in the view of the never-ending fields that lay before us. My eyes began to gloss over. I missed my family...

"Deli," Yıldız began in a sing-song voice. "What's up?"

"You seem glum, girl. Is everything alright?"
