Chapter 33.

Delnaz's POV

The next morning I awoke with a headache. Yıldız was pressed up against my side and Afsana was snoring lightly on the bunk bed. My alarm went off but these two continued to sleep like logs. Mother and Aunt Hamida would need help preparing breakfast and so I decided to freshen up and help them in the kitchen.

Downstairs, Father was watching TV with Ismet on his lap. The two were really getting along and I hoped that they would always have a good relationship. I was startled when my phone buzzed in my pocket and nearly fell down the stairs.

"Delnaz! Are you alright?" Father called from his couch below.

"I'm fine," I muttered.

I reluctantly unlocked my phone and peered at the message. Luckily it was just Mevlüt. Oh how I missed my older brother...

Mevlüt:
So Fuaaaddd is meeting mum and dad today?😉😉

I groaned. This boy literally remembered everything that was sure to embarrass me.

Me:
Well yeah. Y? Upset that you wont be cing him?😏

Mevlüt:
Shut up Delnaz. You know I wish I could be there.

Snap!

Me:
Sorry... Anyway, when are you coming over with Hande?

Mevlüt:
Soon, inşallah. See you around. Gotta get ready for work. Good luck for today 😆

Me:
Thanks love you bro ❤

I locked my phone and raced past Father and into the kitchen. Mother was peeling vegetables for a salad and Aunt Hamida was waiting for the eggs to boil.

"Delnaz, you've woken up early for once," Aunt Hamida commented. "You should be getting your beauty sleep today."

My cheeks heated up instantly. "Well I just... I..."

"Come and sit, honey. Where are Yıldız and Afsana?"

"They're still sleeping..."

I walked to the table and took a seat across from Mother. My eyes were droppy and I couldn't help but rub them.

"Your aunt is right. You should be getting your beauty sleep today," Mother and Aunt Hamida chuckled.

"Zeenat? Hamida? Since when do you two encourage this child to sleep?" Father walked into the kitchen with Ismet wriggling in his arms.

Aunt Hamida cleared her throat. "Because her boyfriend is coming over today Rashid, don't you know?" Aunt Hamida's voice was challenging and made me nervous.

Father visibly paled at her words. "Goodness! I forgot... Ya Allah... I haven't even shaven today! Zeenat, take Ismet. He seems hungry. I will quickly shave before..." Father shoved Ismet into Mother's arms and had left the kitchen before he could even finish his sentence.

Aunt Hamida and Mother laughed and I could not understand why.

Fuad's POV

"What are you wearing, dear?" Mother asked me as we sat at the dining table.

"I'm not sure. What do you suggest?" I munched on my chicken salad sandwich and gulped my orange juice. Food is life.

"Smart casual. You have a nice shirt, don't you?"

"I have that red and black one that I never wore. You bought it for me when winter just ended, remember? Would it be fine to wear?"

"Oh... Yes. Okay, you wear that. The sleeves are short so it won't be a problem."
