Sarah's P.O.V.
Two weeks laterI drive through the gates of the city apartment. Dublin is very busy. There are busses and trains all over the area. The cars are causing a traffic jam. I pull up the brakes of my jeep. I switch off the engine. I sit in silence. We are leaving to sail to England tomorrow morning. I can't leave without telling my dad sorry. He forgot about me. I didn't want this to happen. I open the jeep door. I clutch my shoulder as I close the door with my other hand. I went Gaelic training(football training) last night and I got a belt. Thank you Ellen! A good smack on my shoulder. I don't care really. I look up. My sister lives in a pretty big apartment. Her boyfriend really pumps money into the upkeep of the apartment. Especially when my sister lives in it. Dad always said that I will meet some guy. Pfft! Such nonsense. I'd rather date a horse than go out with an guy. Horses are kinder. They love you no matter what. Lads, please don't get me started, a guy tried to ask Leona and I out. Never seen him after I told him I'd rather go out with a horse and when Leona screamed at him to move. He legged it away from us. We cried with laughter. I chuckle to myself.
I walk up the stairs to the apartment. Apartment number 32. She is pretty high up. I reach the door. I lift my clenched fist to knock but I stop. What if he doesn't care? I push that thought back and give the door a few knocks. Flip it! I hate fighting. I hear the lock click and my dad opens the door. ''What do you want?''. He says coldly. ''I'm sorry''. I say quietly. ''I'm the idiot. I'm just frustrated. It's just...I hate loosing a friend and I got angry. I didn't mean it. I just had to let the steam out. She should have known not to ride the horse''. I say quietly. I look at the ground. My dad stares at me. I feel his cold eyes. He places his hand on my shoulder. ''I'm coming home. I can't stand your sister any longer. She wants a lot of things''. He says smiling. I look up at him. ''Can you help me tomorrow. I want to win''. I say smiling. My dad smiles back. He's giving me the smile he would have given my mother. That kind and loving smile. I hug him. He hugs me back. ''I will help. I'm sorry Sarah''. He says. I hug him so hard I just don't want to let go. I don't want to loose him.
I walk out of the apartment with a smile on my face and my dad walking beside me. He drives us home.
Scooter's P.O.V.
I eat the grass. It is a lovely day. Sarah is gone off in her jeep. I'm left out to graze for the day. I'm heading off tomorrow. I feel excited and very nervous. The race will change my life if I win. If I loose, I guess I'll have to start over. The Sky Princess though will never take me down. I will make sure of that. That mare is cruel. She will be back to normal though. That vet has no chance of giving her more drugs. We will race fair and square. I shiver. The thoughts is scary. ''Hey Scooter''. It's Cara. She walks up to me. ''Hey''. I say quietly. We are good friends now. I guess Calumbo's death led to us being friends. Cara stands beside me. ''You nervous?''. She asks. She stares into my eyes. She knows. ''Yes''. I answer. ''You'll be okay''. She says. I find us walking to the cliffside. We jump over the fence and race eachother. Cara is quite a fast pony. I gallop ahead with metres to spare. I reach the cliffside first. We both stop. ''I just don't think I'm ready''. I say. Cara looks at me. I stare off into the distance. ''Listen Scooter. You have to save the stud. Don't do this for winning. Do it for your friends and home. Calumbo would have wanted you to do it''. Cara says. I look at her. ''What do you think Calumbo would have told me to do?''. I ask. Cara looks at me. ''Do you remember your first race? You won The Sky Princess with just centimetres to spare''. Cara says. I nod my head. I do. ''Calumbo said that that is not how a racehorse wins a race. He wants you to win with metres to spare. He wants you to gallop so fast. He wants you to show that bullies can not take you down. You are small but mighty. You are an engine. You eat the ground up. You can gallop for miles. You were made to gallop. You were made to win this race at such a young age! Five years old! That's unbelievable! You started racing when you were four. Your mother said nice and clear to you. She wants you to jump so high that you are to fly with the birds. She wants you to gallop so fast that you are to never look back. Never! Forget about everything. The crowd, The Sky Princess, the race. I want you think about your rider. I want you to think about them four words. Calumbo wants you to Race With the Wind. You were made to be a hero and a legend. You have everyone's attention. Every owner, every horse and every jockey out there knows that you are going to have a major comeback. They believe. You have to too. I know it! I feel it! You are Destination S. You were born to run''. Cara says. I see tears in her eyes. I smile at her. I lean my head on her neck. She's right! I am Destination S! I was born to run! I was made to save this stud! I do believe. Bullies may take you down...but not me. I am strong. I am Destination S and I will not be afraid. I am Destination S and I will do what my family told me to do. I look down at the ground and I close my eyes. I feel a gust of wind hit my face. My long mane blowing in the wind. I open my eyes and I feel reborn. I feel energised. I feel the presence of my mother, father and Calumbo. They are telling me what to do. The wind gets stronger and stronger. It's like they are whispering it to me. I hear my mother. I repeat clearly back to her the words she told me. ''I am Destination S and I will Race With the Wind''. I say smiling as I stare out into the distance like a reborn horse. I was made to Race With the Wind.
