The One With The Candles

Dan hadn't slept in 2 days.

2 days is a long time. Dan was kept awake by the sound of the violin playing from Phil's house. Dan wanted to say something. He wanted Phil to stop but he was an awkward person and he didn't know exactly how can he tell Phil to stop with his violin playing.

There was no denying that he was talented and it was calming and soothing to listen to but Dan liked his sleep a lot and he just wanted Phil to stop.

So when Dan was lying awake on the bed he decided that he had enough and that he was going to tell Phil to stop immediately. He got up and put on a shirt before walking out and ringing the doorbell of Phil's house.

He heard meows, a loud crash and a second later Phil's face appeared in front of him. He was smiling which was something he never stopped doing and according to Dan it was quite cute.

"Hello" he said smiling.

"Um hi" Dan said awkwardly his confidence disappearing.

They just stared at each other for a long time when Phil finally spoke up.

"Do you need something, Dan?" he asked.

"No I mean yes no um I can't sleep because of you know... your violin playing" Dan said.

"Oh my god" Phil exclaimed. "How stupid of me"

Dan felt guilty at Phil's expression.

"It's fine, I just wanted to um say that"

"I understand. I am sorry for all that inconvenience"

"All right" Dan said biting his lip.

Just then Snowball came out and she of course ignored Phil completely and moved to Dan. Dan had softened a lot towards her but he still didn't trust her enough.

"Snowyy go inisde now" Phil said but she ignored him.

Phil bent down to pick her up but she hissed throwing a fit immediately and scratching Phil's arms twice before jumping down on the ground and trying to run away but Dan caught her and held her tightly. She was much calmer now.

"Oww" Dan heard Phil.

"Are you all right?"

"Yeah it hurts a bit" Phil said holding his arm. "Do you think I need to see a doctor?"

"I don't know but let's have a look at it first..." Dan said.

Phil went in his house so Dan just followed him inside inhaling the wondrous scent that filled the house and made Dan's stomach rumble. It smelt like marshmallows .Snowball was still in his arms. He set her down on the sofa as she was much calmer now. Phil was examining his arm.

"Is it bleeding?" Dan asked as he sat down next to Phil.

"Only a bit. Um Dan do you mind getting me the first aid kit from the drawer?"

"Uh no just wait for a second" Dan said going to the drawers.

"The first one" Phil said.

Dan nodded taking out the box and going back to Phil. He took the bandages and placed it over his scratches.

Snowball came towards Phil and rested her head on his lap.

Phil cautiously pet her and she purred.

"She's never done that before" He said.

"Maybe she was just scared" Dan said.

"Yeah. Thanks for helping me though" Phil said.

"I um no problem" Dan smiled.

"And sorry again for the violin"

"It's fine" Dan said smiling as he got up. "I should go now"

"Yeah good night then bye" Phil said.

"Bye" Dan said as he turned around to leave but stopped. "Um your house smells great by the way just thought I should let you know"

Phil laughed.

"Oh it's my favorite candle"

"What's it called?" Dan asked.

"Fireside treats"

"All right" Dan smiled as he smiled again and left finally going back to his house.

He went back to his room. It was already 4 am. He climbed on his bed. He hardly had 3 hours for sleep. With a yawn he tossed and turned a little sometimes wondering about Phil but he soon fell asleep.

It was no surprise that the next day he was running late for work. He hurriedly went down when he saw Phil running by the streets. Just when he spotted Dan Phil waved at him and Dan waved back. He is such a nice guy Dan thought to himself as he got into the car and drove to work.

After a whole day of sitting in front of a computer screen doing boring shit Dan went back home but not before stopping in a candle shop.

It was a beautiful place and the scent so overwhelming he couldn't describe it. However he finally got what he was looking for. 'Fireside Treats'

He paid for the candle and went back home.

When he reached home he lit the candle and suddenly he had an urge to eat the air.

Soon Dan was playing video games when someone showed up to his house yet again. And that someone was in no doubt Phil.

"Hey Dan, I bought you cupcakes" Phil said grinning.

"Um why?" Dan asked.

"As a sorry for keeping you awake for 3 days"

"You don't need to" Dan began.

"Please take it. I baked it myself" Phil said.

Dan sighed and took the box.

"Thanks" he said with a smile.

"Hope you like them"

"I will"

"All right then see you later" Phil said leaving.

"Goodbye"

"Oh did I tell you that your house smells really nice" Phil said suddenly.

Dan just grinned.
