Ch.33 Spinning wheel

After beating the bridge trolls, Faybelle and Vincent continued through the forest until the forest started to get darker.

"We're getting closer" Faybelle said as they continued walking.

But as they were walking, Vincent was getting an uneasy feeling that they were being watched.

"Uh, does it always feel like you're being watched?" he asked.

"You get used to it, but we're almost to my place".

Pretty soon they came upon the gate of the Thorn mansion, Faybelle's mother was considered royalty due to her admired power, so the Thorn family was treated with care and comfort, especially since everyone feared them.

"There it is" Faybelle said "Home sweet home".

"Wow" Vincent said amused "I never knew the Dark Fairy lived in royalty".

"Pretty cool huh?"

"I'll say".

"All right" Faybelle sighed "Let me just see if my mom's here and I'll talk to her, and uh, wait here".

She then opened the gate and flew towards the front door and knocked, soon the door was opened by a butler.

"Ms. Thorn" he said surprised "What a surprise".

"Yeah it's nice to see you too" Faybelle said "But where's-".

"Faybelle?" a mouse size fairy flew up to her "Is that really you?"

"Lucille!" Faybelle gasped with a smile "I missed you!"

Lucille was Faybelle's nanny when she was a kid, the fairy used to take care of her when Madame Thorn was busy.

"What are you doing here?" Lucille asked politely.

"I need to talk to my mother, where is she?" Faybelle asked.

"Well I'm sorry but she's not here".

"Well do you know where she is?"

"I think she went to Ms. Beauty's old tower".

"And uh, did you see if she was carrying anything when she left?"

"I think I saw her carrying something big wrapped up in a cloth, and I think I saw a wand in her hand".

"Okay that's all I need to know, I gotta go now, bye" she said as she flew off.

"Bye dear" Lucille waved.

"Vincent" Faybelle said "Looks like we're gonna have to make another journey".

"Where?" he asked.

"Sleeping Beauty's old tower, my mom's there".

"Well how far is it?"

"It's not that far, but I have a feeling that my mom has a plan with Farrah's wings and wand, so we gotta go now".

"Right behind you" he said as he followed her the other way.

After a few minutes, the two came upon Sleeping Beauty's old tower, the tower was still covered in briar thorns and has been abandoned since Sleeping Beauty woke from her century sleep.

"Wow it looks creepier than before" Vincent said with a nervous look.

"Okay" Faybelle said "Stay by me, and try not to get poked by the thorns".

So Vincent followed Faybelle into the tower and up the long slight of stairs where they saw blue lights coming from a room.

"My mother's in there" Faybelle said "Okay, stay here, I'm gonna talk to her".
