Once Upon a Time: Ever After High (Book 3)

Ch.54 Problem in Nottingham

(16 years ago in Nottingham) Upon a castle in the forest of Nottingham, light blazed up the night from the  fire that spread throughout the castle. The soldiers and villagers tried with all their might to put out the fire as a noble archer fought his way through the flames to get to the gates of the palace.

"Robin!" a big man said as he fought back a soldier "We can't put out this fire! We gotta make a run for it!"

"I'm leaving until I find Marian!" Robin Hood "Now come help me open this gate!"

The man went up to the gate and helped Robin brake it down with his strength as Robin ran in.

"Little John" another man called as he fought a guard "I kinda need some help here!"

Little John came over and banged his fist on the guards head knocking him out.

"Thanks" the man said.

"No problem Will" John patted his back.

"Where's Robin?" Will Scarlet asked.

"He's inside trying to find Marian."

"Oh boy" Will said with a nervous look "I hope he makes it out safe."

Inside the castle that had fire everywhere, Robin made his way through the way while calling his wife's name.

"Marian!" he called as a scream was heard.

Knowing that it was her, he made his way up the stairs and to a room where he could hear his name being called by Marian. He tried to open the door but found that it was locked, so he picked up a bust and banged it against the door, and thanks to the fire that burned away some of the wood, he was able to break open the door. He went into the room and saw the Sheriff of Nottingham grabbing hold of Marian as fire spread across the room.

"Robin!" she cried when she saw him.

"It's too late Robin!" the Sheriff yelled with anger "When I go down in this fire she goes down with me!"

"Not if I can stop it" Robin scowled as he pulled out his sword.

"Oo, a fight surrounded by fire" the Sheriff said with a sneaky smile "This should be fun."

He then let go of Marian as he pulled out his sword. Marian watched with fear as her husband started to fight their enemy. Even though Robin was a skilled swordsman, the Sheriff was just as good as him. During the fight the Sheriff was able to make a scratch across Robin's face as blood dripped out, but Robin fought back by making a cut on the Sheriff's arm. And as they were fighting, Marian spotted a crowbar on the floor, she picked it up as Robin kicked the Sheriff back against the wall, and at that point Marian used the crowbar to whack it in the Sheriff's stomach and on his head knocking him down.

"Wow" Robin said impressed.

"Now can we get out of here?" she asked.

"Oh right" he said as he went to the open window "Looks like we're gonna have to go through here."

"How?"

Robin then pulled out an arrow and tied a long piece of rope to the end and shot it through the window as it hit a tree. After making sure it was strong and steady, Robin and Marian stood on the window still with his one hand on the other end of the rope and the other around his wife's body.

"You ready?" he asked her.

"Not really" she said with a scared look as her arms wrapped around his shoulders.

"Too bad, hold on!"

And with that they jumped off the window and swung down and across the river as Marian held on tight to Robin as he gripped the rope as hard as he could. They then made it to the ground as he let go of the rope but she continued to hold onto him. Shen then pulled him into a hug as he hugged back.

"Are you alright?" he asked her.

"I'm fine" she said with her hands on her face "What about you?"

"I'm okay" he said, even though he had a few bruises and scratches and burnt marks.

"But hows our little one?" he asked as he put his hand on her stomach where their soon to be child was.

"Perfect" she smiled "But what about the castle?"

At that point thunder was heard, they looked up into the sky and saw rain clouds coming as it began to rain.

"It'll be fine" Robin assured.

"You wont get away with this Robin Hood!" the Sheriff shouted from the castle "I will have your head!"

"Let's go" Robin said as he and Marian quickly got on a horse and rode off into the rain.

It was still Spring Break at Ever After, and Sparrow was getting ready to go to his tree house to practice his music without having to worry about school, which he never does. So he gathered his guitar and headed to the front when he was stopped by his mother Madame Maid Marian, who was also a teacher at the school who taught Damsel in Distressing. Like Sparrow she had chestnut colored hair, but she had cut her long hair that she used to have into a bob.

"Sparrow" she said.

"Yes mom?" he said with a bored look.

"I just got a call from Nottingham, apparently there's a problem and they want me to come and help your father, now while I'm gone, I don't want you getting in trouble."

"Yeah sure" he rolled his eyes.

"Hold on" Poppy said as she went up to them "Sparrow, don't you want to go to Nottingham and patch things up with your father?"

"Uh, no thanks."

"Yeah why don't you come?" Marian said with a smile "I'm sure your father would be glad to see you."

"I doubt it."

"Come on Sparrow" Poppy urged "I think it's time you have a talk with your father."

"You can hang out with Little John and the Merry Men" Marian added.

"Fine" he sighed "But only if I can bring my friends."

"Very well."

"Can I come?" Poppy asked.

"Sure."

"Thank you" she smiled.

"Alright, we leave in an hour."

After she walked away, Sparrow turned to Poppy with a frown.

"What?" she asked.

"Thanks to you, now I have to go seen my dad" he frowned.

"So? This is a good thing, it finally gives you a chance to patch things up with your dad."

"But I'm not ready for this."

"Oh you will soon, you just time to think about before we get there."

"Oy" he sighed.
