Ch.12 The Sweet Tooth

"So what other stuff is there to do around here?" Andy asked Bridget as they walked down the sidewalk.

"Well I'm actually taking you to this really great bakery" Bridget said with a smile "It's owned by my friend and she makes these incredible treats, here we are".

They both entered a bakery called 'The Sweet Tooth'. Once inside the smell of cupcakes and cookies stuck their noses.

"Wow it smells great in here" Andy commented.

"I know" Bridget agreed "I actually work here sometimes, but all I do is just help loads boxes and ingredients. Let me just call my friend, Tara!"

"Coming!" a voice from the kitchen replied.

Soon a girl wearing a messy apron with her dark hair tied into a ponytail entered from the kitchen and behind the counter.

"Hey Bridget" she smiled.

"Tara" Bridget said "I want you to meet Andy, the guy I met online".

"Nice to meet you" Tara smiled at Andy "So are you like, moving here?"

"Yeah" Andy said "Bridget told me about Storybrooke, and it seemed like a nice place to stay so I moved here and here I am".

"Where did you move from?" Tara asked.

"New York".

"No way, Bridget didn't Elena came from New York?"

"Yeah..." Bridget said with a nervous look.

"What's wrong?"

Andy gave a sigh.

"Elena is my ex girlfriend" he confessed as Tara's eyes widen.

"Oh" she said surprised.

"But they're over it and Elena's fine with s dating" Bridget said.

"Oh".

At that point, a young boy and girl came out from the kitchen.

"Tara" the girl said "We're gonna go to the movies, we should be back in about 2 hours".

"Okay" Tara said as they left the bakery.

"Uh..." Andy said, wondering who they were.

"Oh that was Marcus and Isabelle" Tara said "They help me around the bakery".

"Really?" Andy said "Cause they seem really young, how old are they?"

"Fourteen, but it's okay, I look after them".

"And what she means by that, is that she's their guardian" Bridget put in.

"What?"

"I'm not sure if Bridget told you this" Tara said "But most of the students here don't live with their parents, it's a long story which I can explain later, but since our parents aren't here, we live by ourselves. Although some of do live with our parents, like Bridget lives with her dad, but most of us are on our own".

"And that's legal here?" Andy asked.

"Yeah, but the Mayor helps us do our living. But since Marcus and Isabelle are too young to live alone, I let them live with me and I take care of them".

"Wow" Andy said amused "So are they siblings?"

"Cousins actually".

"And you really take care of them?"
