Ch.60 Fire

By the time the Merry Men made it to town, they went to the front of Nottingham Castle where they were shocked to see Robin on the hanging post with the Sheriff next to him. They hid behind a wagon as they watched the Sheriff put the loop over Robin's head and tightened it around his neck.

"Any last words Robin?" the Sheriff asked with a sneaky look.

"Yeah" Robin said as he turned to him "My wife is gonna beat your ass when she finds out about this."

"We'll see about that" the Sheriff smirked.

"Oh no" Marian said with a worried look "We have to be quick on this."

"Don't worry" Sparrow said "Here's where I come in."

He pulled out his arrow and aimed it forward.

"Just gotta get the aim" he said as he focused on the target.

But before he could shoot, a guard came up from behind them and spotted them.

"Hey!" he shouted, which threw Sparrow off guard as he let go of the arrow.

The arrow flew straight towards Robin, but instead of hitting it, it flew straight through the rope that was hanging above his head. Everyone gasped as Robin with his hands still tied behind him, knocked over the Sheriff as a guard ran up to him raising his sword, but as the guard swung down his sword, Robin turned around as the sword sliced through the ropes that bonded his hands and was finally free.

"Wow" Little John said amused as he turned to Sparrow "That was impressive."

"Cool right?" Sparrow agreed.

At that point everyone came out from hiding and started to attack the guards. Sparrow went up to his dad who had shoved a guard out of the way.

"That was an amazing shot Sparrow" Robin told him.

"Oh that was an accident" Sparrow said "I was really aiming for the Sheriff."

Robin's eyes widen by the sound of that.

"And speaking of the Sheriff" Sparrow added "Where is he?"

Robin turned and saw the Sheriff running into the castle.

"Oh he's not getting away" Robin said as he pulled out his sword and went after him.

"Hey you don't have to do this!" Sparrow shouted "We could just go home and forget him!"

But Robin had already ran into the castle.

"And he's gone" Sparrow sighed.

"Then go after him" Poppy said.

"What?"

"Help him out" she said as she punched a guard that was behind her "I can come if you want."

"Yeah that'll be helpful."

And with that he and Poppy ran into the castle after Robin. Inside the castle, Robin continued to go after the Sheriff until they went into a dining room. There the Sheriff faced Robin with a mad look as he pulled out his sword.

"Alright" he scowled "Time to settle this once and for all."

"I'm up for the challenge" Robin smirked as he pulled out his sword.

They both got in position and started to fight. But as they fought, Sparrow and Poppy came in.

"Oh" Sparrow said when he saw the fight as he turned to Poppy "So what do we do?"

"Well uh..." Poppy said as she tried to think of something.

"Do you even have any weapons on you?"

"The only thing I have are these scissors" she said as she pulled out her scissors.

But at that point Robin shoved the Sheriff away from him, sending the Sheriff straight into Poppy's scissors. He gave a scream in pain as he back away with his hands on his butt where the scissors stabbed him.

"Well that's one way to stab an ass" Sparrow said amused.

The Sheriff, now furious started to charge at Poppy with his sword, but Sparrow quickly used his bow to block the sword as Poppy stood back. Sparrow then pushed the Sheriff back crashing into a chair and falling to the floor. At that point Robin pulled him up and punched him across the face knocking him to the floor.

"Well that should do the trick" he said.

"Oh splendid job" a voice said.

Everyone turned around and saw Prince John in the doorway with a lantern in his hand and a sneaky look on his face.

"But you all know this isn't over yet" he said with a sneaky smile.

"Well once King Richard finds out about this he'll be throwing your ass behind bars" Robin scowled.

"Oh he'll never find out about this, especially since all of you will dead by time I tell him all of you have died in an accidental fire."

"What?"

But at that point, the Sheriff had gotten up and shoved his way pass Robin and Sparrow and to the door.

"May I do the honors?" he asked Prince John.

"Go ahead" John said as he handed him the lantern.

"Well it was knowing you all" the Sheriff said with a sneaky look "But I think now it's time to end all of this."

And with that he slammed the lantern onto the carpet on the floor as it broke into flames. Everyone gasped as the Sheriff and Prince John ran out and closed the door. Robin tried to get to the door but the fire blocked his way as it started to spread throughout the room.

"Oh my God!" Poppy screamed.

"Isn't there another way out!" Sparrow asked with a scared look.

"This is the only door and I can't reach it!" Robin yelled.

"What about windows?"

"Um-" Robin said as he turned and spotted a window "Here's one!"

He ran to it and used a candlestick to smash the window, but when he looked out, he saw that they were very high up, he looked around and saw that there wasn't anything to climb down on. Now more scared, he backed away from the window.

"What's wrong?" Sparrow asked.

"We're too high up" Robin said with a worried look "We can't even climb down."

"So that's it?" Poppy asked with a scared look "We're screwed?"

Everyone looked and saw that the fire was getting bigger by the minute, trapped and with no escape, they all felt hopeless.
