Series One, Episode Seven - The Firestorm (April 12, 2013)

​Awoken to being dragged from his cell, a horrified Nickey is brought to an interview room, alongside Maya. Using the few minutes alone to talk, Maya apologises for saying she wished she'd never found him, as they talk more of their expected fate. Interrupted by Nickey's angry father, Charlie talks as the mayor, but Maya quickly reveals their knowledge. Reduced to tears, Charlie apologises as he meets his son for the first time - as Maya confirms to Nickey that she knew his father's identity all along, and that there was no falling out. Their moments continually interrupted, Maya's father, Quinlan Firrick, enters, in disbelief of his daughter's crime. The four argue, Charlie begging the special agent to reconsider. Firing Maya, he drags Nickey from the room in chains, intending to 'send him home'.

​Days after the confirmation of Nickey's arrest, V confirms his plan to kill Charlie - knowing that he is the Power's father. They talk as V practices his elemental spells on small models of the building site, discussing the consequences of having only one Power for the whole country. V reacts in fear, saying that an overpowerful spell will kill Arianna. Speaking through text to H, the mystery contact speaks of Arianna disappearing. Both of the men worry, but Edmund calms himself and V by saying "any display powerful enough would've been noticed". Angry, V walks the streets, terrifying citizens as he searches for a payphone. Edmund follows him in secret, as he watches V at the phone. As the cloaked man screams "then where the hell is my daughter?" the janitor runs, preparing more of the murder for V.

​March 29, 1998. Suffering severe burn scars to her face, Vera arrives by motorcycle to a small medical practice in the Queen's City of Decorus Luna. Breaking into the facility, she meets inside a young doctor. She threatens him into helping - speaking of his legendary ability to use magic without Powers, at great physical cost. The doctor has her describe events; Vera reveals she had a 'friend' help her escape. Burning himself slightly, the magician uses his magic to create a spray - which heals it instantly. As they continue to speak of it, he reveals that the spray will take 'a little over sixteen years' to heal her wounds, to which she jokingly replies "Can you get this in a mask?" The doctor asking for a $5000 payment, she says she'll return with the money - as the doctor tells her that his name is Doctor Darcy Hedney.

​Wanting to keep Ari safe, Letitia rushes to get ready - saying that she will have to go with a friend of hers. They share a mother-daughter love moment, Arianna not wanting to leave her. Arriving at the door is Doctor Darcy Hedney. Terrified of the name, Letitia does not let on about the identically named student, instead getting Ari to talk to Darcy. He reveals he is opening a hospital in Novus Somnium, and that helping him will keep her close, yet concealed. Both in tears, Letitia and Ari embrace, the woman promising the Power that Darcy will keep her safe. As they drive off, Letitia texts a hidden number, saying "I can't help you now."

​October 23, 2003. Breaking into a sleeping couple's house late at night, Vera takes their newborn baby from its crib, leaving only a note saying "Never cross Vera Fertaine. Call me when you can help." Again on her bake, she takes the baby from its home in Decorus Luna, and to Novus Somnium - her face hidden by her 'burns mask' the entire time. Arriving to an orphanage, she leaves the baby with only a note. As she leaves, she talks to the infant, revealing that she doesn't know his true name, and he should have been hers. Riding away, she begins to tear up. Turning around, she drives past again, calling "Good luck, Darcy Hedney Jr."

​Arriving to a late night building inspection, Charlie's request to be alone upsets him - knowing the site to be the one where the hospital he blew up once stood. Shocked by the eerie surroundings, he turns around to the sight of malevolent V. The magician talks of Vera, terrifying the mayor, as he promises Charlie will suffer "in the same firestorm that she did." The mayor tries to fight his claim, but instead freaks out, as V sets the building site alight - walking away laughing. Trying to escape, Charlie finds himself trapped as flaming rubble falls, and the smoke knocks him unconscious. Horrified upon their return, the builders attempt to fight the fire - unable to quickly rescue Charlie from the ruins.

​Walking from an operating room, Darcy introduces the team to his assistant, Arianna - under the name of Brianna Hedney. As Charlie is rushed in, the doctor quips to her "That's your father" to which she replies "Dad? What are you talking about? You're my father." Meanwhile, Nickey arrives to his asylum, where he is roommates with Kara. They talk quickly about the outside, and of Ari. Suddenly, Nickey finds that he can somehow use magic inside the Asylum walls.

2.01 - Bewildered

With Arianna effectively gone, Maya aims to find the truth. While Nickey works with an outsider on his powers, the mysterious Sunlight Society deals with their weakening magical ability.
