Series Two, Episode Eight - Their Place of Salvation (June 14, 2013)

Conversing while Charlie televises his message, Nickey and Ari express sadness and discomfort towards the situation. Learning from Mina of Chris Vallacy's help, the five watch his message - offering them respite under his care in Decorus Luna. Talking with Maya, they decide on the city as their goal, and Mina informs the mayor. Talking more of keeping safe, and of the four hour driving journey, Maya brings to the twins a motorbike - teaching Nickey to ride it. As Kara and Mina talk inside the office, the two share a tearful exchange; Mina telling her that magic being strong in the city isn't worth her safety; instructing her never to remove her new anti-magic bracelet. As the twins go that night, Mina tells of them of an organised rest stop only a half hour away. Taking Kara to Charlie, Maya tells Mina that they have work to do - working to find Vera.

Having continued to spy on Chris, Juan learns of his meeting spot with the Powers. Returning to Blue and White, they discuss his absence, as he reveals he was scouting for allies of the Sunlight Society - with no results. Still confirming their plan to destroy the Asylum, Juan hesitates, which Blue notices. Both throwing many questions about loyalty his way; Juan attempts to retaliate. Suddenly, a loud sound draws them out, as the roof of the warehouse caves in, barely escaping with the crystal and their lives. Working their way through the rubble, Blue discovers a small phone with the detonation plans on it missing, which angers each for different reasons. Storming off, Juan reveals he must find the culprit. Arriving to Chris' office, he finds him missing; learning he is headed to the city limit.

Riding, Nickey and Arianna talk of their emotions, as well of the thrill of riding by night. Arriving to a small inn, their rest stop, they give their names and are greeted warmly by the owners. Retiring to their room, the twins talk long and deep of the year's events past. As Ari reveals her wish to have stayed in the Asylum, Nickey attempts to comfort her to no avail, as he realises that they are nowhere near as close as they should be. Walking out in emotional pain, his sister follows, as they share discussion in the lobby. Approached by a woman named Julie Crand; she questions their destination and reasons for travel. Despite Nickey's unwillingness, she continues to push - as he snarkily reveals that they are Powers. Hurrying Ari back to the room, they talk softly of the mysterious woman before sleeping.

Taking to Cityscape in an attempt to confront Letitia, Maya and Mina catch Stan on his way in. Assuming his odd presence to mean involvement, they question him, as the discussion becomes increasingly heated. Angering the man; Mina enquires into the glowing mark on his hand. In a quick move, he starts to run, as Maya catches him in a shady alleyway. Continuing to talk of the Sunlight Society, Maya pressures him - as he lunges at her. Somehow gaining his free will back, to an extent, he drains his mark into Maya unsuccessfully. Drained of energy, he collapses, as Mina rescues a dying Maya. Taking her to the hospital, they welcome the sight of Darcy Sr.

Returning home, Darcy is greeted by a hardworking Vera. Discussing Maya's near-death, the topic shifts back to Vera's work, as she reveals that another crystal can lead them to Darcy Junior's. As he points out her logic errors, including the location of a second crystal, an argument ensues - leaving the two angry. Trying to calm the situation, Vera leaves to take a walk on her own. Darcy video conferences with his son, talking of being unaware of Vera's location - prompting a hasty logging off upon her return. Calm, they discuss baiting the child, though Vera reveals she knows he won't be easily tricked. Regardless, they formulate a plan - resting hopes on deceit.

Having spent two nights in the hotel, Nickey and Arianna agree to leave, discussing Julie's frequent appearances, and opportunities in Decorus Luna, and they again take to the open road. Elsewhere, on the city's outskirts, Chris sets a trap just five minutes from a popular overpass. Hours later, Arianna notes the beauty of an upcoming overpass. As they come out on the other side, a man in a red bandana suddenly lands on their bike. Taking the two off the road, both of the Powers express horror, as he reveals that he saved their life. Stopping at a small house on the edge of town, they are taken to a granny flat, as Juan introduces himself as The Bandana Man. Talking of his knowledge of their bloodline and Darcy's society, they talk more. Agreeing to assist him, Juan reveals he can trust no one else to help take Darcy down.

Waking up with an ear-piercing scream, Kara is suddenly joined by a horrified Charlie and Edmund. Discussing her nightmare, she reveals that it was not a nightmare, but in fact a second encounter with her true love. As she describes both him and the scenario, Edmund becomes agitated by the hour at which he was woken. Thrusting a pen and paper into her hands, he commands her to draw him, stating that he will examine it in the morning. With Charlie by her side, she continues to draw, and discusses the dream. Suddenly, as she finishes it, Charlie snatches it from her. Running and again waking Edmund, he utters the words "This is a huge problem." Horrified as he sees the drawing, Edmund compares it to a photo - revealing the drawing is the spitting image of Darcy Hedney Junior.
