Series Two, Episode Four - Darcy Hedney Must Die (May 17, 2013)

​June 29, 2003. Arriving home after a tough day at school, a teenage Maya forgoes studying for her 'nerd cave' and magic obsession. Using the computer to discuss magic online; the teen fumbles with her bracelet - expressing online her hate of it being trapped on. Called by her parents to dinner, the conversation quickly turns to her Powership. As she speaks of wanting to use it, her mother Sophia and Quinlan scold her, reminding her of the threat magic poses to Novus Somnium. Meeting with her similarly obsessed friend Karolina at school the next day, the two girls discuss her Powership. Revealing that psychic named Rina will be able to unlock her magic, Karolina instructs Maya to call her. During the call, Rina asks Maya to visit her in four days' time, and to bring the girl who recommended her to the psychic.

​Having spent days trapped in the guillotine room, Nickey and Kara begin to feel the effects of starvation. Discussing having not a single plan in mind, the two Powers agree that surrender may be vital to their lives. Suddenly, with the watchers insisting on attacking the barrier, magical energy explodes - unveiling to Nickey and Kara a tunnel. As Nickey uses his magic to seal it up and they enter, the Asylum caretakers appear bewildered - as the child and her partner arrive outside the city. Deciding to lay low for a few weeks, they stumble upon a crumbling cottage while discussing Julien, Maya and Mina. Finding the home stocked with weeks of supplies, they decide that staying put is a priority. Talking more of their plan, Kara reveals her wish to find "her love from her dreams".

​Walking the streets, coffees in hand, Maya and Mina discuss their sudden increase in magical perception overnight. Visiting the hospital on a need to talk to Darcy, the two women confront him, forcing him to tell the truth about Arianna. Revealing he stole her memories in an attempt to bring Vera to Letitia, he continues to talk of messing up the spell - and that he must die for her memory to return. Leaving to head towards the park, Maya speaks of her wish to find an alternative way. Upon further enquiry from Mina, Maya reveals only fragments of a story, where she once gave someone else's life for something she wanted, and says "Now I'm not prepared to repeat that." As they walk the stores, inspecting dresses, they continue to plan. Warning Maya that sacrifices are sometimes necessary, she simply walks off, whispering to herself "I don't think last time was."

​Sorting through Sunlight Society messages for those regarding Ari; Charlie speaks to his comatose young daughter of all they would have done together. Arriving back, Vera speaks to Charlie of her progress, to which he enquires further into his attacker. Suddenly, a fear filled V enters the basement, claiming to be Vera's protector. Getting angry, Charlie demands answers, and V reveals himself as Edmund - shock filling the mayor's face. Lunging towards the janitor, Charlie assaults him, throwing claims of him being a traitor around. Using her magic, Vera suspends him. Telling him that Edmund's chemistry skills may save Arianna, he apologises. Getting to work, Edmund reveals that he only perfected memory restoration once, as he smiles at Vera.

​July 3, 2003. Entering Rina's shop in the evening, Maya and Karolina experience intense feelings from the array of magical display items. Startled by the psychic, the three discuss magic and their goals - and Rina suddenly poses a question of Karolina's dedication to Maya. Revealing she'd die for her, Rina puts Maya's bracelet to Karolina. Draining the electricity restricting her removing it into her, Maya's friend falls dead and Maya runs. Now able to remove the bracelet, Maya uses her magic for evil, striking fear in the students of her middle school. After a month, Maya proclaims herself 'Queen of Autriac Middle School.' On her way home, the Power's bracelet is replaced as she is kidnapped - with her attackers being Quinlan and Sophia themselves.

​Speaking to Letitia of Vera during the school's lunch break, Stan and the teacher are approached by Noah. Talking of a bully, Letitia's sudden exit to deal with it turns Noah's personality cold and manipulative. Revealing his connection to 'the pureblooded soul'; the young boy threatens Stan with his magic - warning him that no other member must be allowed to find Vera, and that he must kill her before Letitia or Darcy get to her. Continuing to talk of magic until Letitia's return, her sudden interruption relives Stan - yet angers Noah. Forced to leave as class begins, Stan returns to the magic shop, where he is swooped by customers wanting a show. Performing, the mark on his hand worries a man in the street; his face concealed by a bandana. Talking to someone on the phone, he drives off, saying he intends to start the search again in Decorus Luna.

​August 5, 2003. Beginning her first day at the Asylum, Maya is bombarded with questions about keeping out, as she realises her bracelet won't come off. Watching Nickey and Ari from afar, she decides against approaching them. In the present day, chasing Darcy in the streets, Maya screams at him that she is ready to make sacrifices. As their chase takes to the rooftops, she uses her magic to throw him against a billboard. Unable to defend himself, the former Power takes Darcy's life; throwing him from the rooftop. Elsewhere, Arianna's immediate awakening startles Charlie. Still under the idea that she is Brianna, the girl asks the mayor to save her from the crazy witch, and to return her to her father - Doctor Darcy Hedney.

2.05 - The First Birthday

Reunited at a dangerous event, Nickey and the others aim to make Arianna's seventeenth birthday special by saving her. Meanwhile, Darcy requires Letitia's help to stay alive, as Vera is directed towards Darcy Hedney Jr.
