Until We Fall (A Before You Exit Fanfic)

CHAPTER 14

A full day has passed since my last encounter with Connor. Tonight, I plan on meeting them after my shift to join them for dinner and maybe record some tunes. It seems okay for them to do their recording at night because they said that they practically rented the music studio from their friend so they don't have to worry about the time.

"Alex? Earth to Alex?" Sean called from my back as I remain fixated on the report that Dr. Richardson asked me to do.

I looked back with a frown. "What?!"

"Dr. Richardson wants us to accompany him in surgery." He said, putting on his medical gloves.

"But he told me to finish this paper asap." I said, motioning to a pile of folders scattered around the table.

He rolled his eyes. "He said he wanted us there. Now, Alex."

"Fine. Stop being so pushy." I said, shaking my head with a smile.

"Not me." He replied as he held the door so I can walk pass by it.

As we walk together to the surgery room, he handed me a pair of gloves just like what he's wearing, together with a surgical mask. "So, how was the visit the other night?"

I looked up at him as I put my gloves on. "Connor's visit?" I asked, smiling as I return my gaze to the hallway. "Fine, I guess. We just ate and sang a few songs."

"I know." He said, sighing.

I furrowed my eyebrows and looked up to him again. "What?" I asked, confused.

"I saw the video. He uploaded it this morning."
"Wait, what video?" I asked, frantic as we walk closer to the surgery room.

Sean smiled as he opened the door for me and placed his mask on after. "Guess you'll have to wait."

After the successful operation, Sean immediately guided me to the pantry to show me the video he's been talking about. It's a short clip of the cover we recorded of their new song "Model". I wondered why Connor decided to put up this video as they haven't even launched the song yet - actually, I think they haven't professionally recorded it either - so I immediately sent him a text.

What is this video about???

A minute after, he replied.

Uh, a video of us singing, perhaps?

I rolled my eyes and sent him a reply again.

I know that Con. I mean, why did you even upload it? I thought you're going to upload it by the time the song was released?

He replied, Have you even read the caption yet? Don't worry, I cut that part :)

I raised my eyebrows and grabbed Sean's phone from his hands. "Uh, sure, you can have it." Sean said sarcastically.

I rolled my eyes. "Sorry, just have to see that video again."

I went back to their youtube channel and searched for the latest upload. I read the caption that says,

Surprise! A few days ago I recorded a cover of a song together with a close friend of mine. The short video recording is actually our upcoming song called "Model"! We hope you like it as much as we do. :) Mark your calendars! The song will be released on April 14.

PS. Not that Before You Exit is now a guy and girl band but this clip is just recorded for fun and the original version of the song includes Riley and Toby :)

I watched the video again and it's just a 30 - second video of Connor and I singing the chorus and a few verses of their song.
