Until We Fall (A Before You Exit Fanfic)

CHAPTER 21

Ever since I went back in Arizona my day to day life has been a mere routine. Breakfast in the morning, watch my favorite series, play the guitar, go on social media, eat lunch, go for a run at the nearby park, eat dinner and go to sleep. It has been one full week that I have been under that same old routine.

Riley and Toby have been reaching out occasionally. We have talked on facetime just a few days ago and we haven't been seeing each other again since they are busy with their EP that they will be releasing in a few days.

They are still here in Arizona, though. From what Toby have told me, Connor doesn't plan on leaving yet.

I was about to go out and break my routine by going to Starbucks but then a sudden call stopped me.

Riley's face is flashing on my screen.

I went out of the house as I answered the call. "Riley?"

"Hey Alex! Are you busy today?" He asked, and I can hear a screaming Toby from the background.

I smiled. "Hey. Uh no, not really. I'm on my way to Starbucks as of the moment, though." I said, heading out of the driveway. I put my phone on speaker as I drove out to the nearest Starbucks just a few blocks from my house.

"Great! Toby and I are planning to go to the studio today. Wanna come?"

I pulled up to the coffee shop and parked my car. "Yeah, sure! What time are you planning to come?" I asked.

"Hmm. About a few hours maybe?" Riley asked after - I think - Toby grabbed his phone from him.

"Alex! You're at Starbucks right? Do you mind if we join you? Then we could go to the studio together?"

I nodded as if they could see me. "Sure! No problem. I'm at the Starbucks near my house. Do you know the place?"

It took a few seconds before Toby replied. "Riley said he knows it. We'll see you in a few minutes. Bye, Alex!" Toby said before hanging up.

I went out of my car and stopped mid-track, sighing as I look at the sign that says "open". What if Connor is here? I mean, he loves Starbucks and this store is pretty much the closest to Bianca's house as well.

Afraid of being seen, I put my hoodie up so that it hides my face. I went inside the coffee shop and the aroma of the coffee greeted me instantly. I avoided the gaze of the other people and just went straight to the cashier. "1 grande Caramel Frappuccino please." I said, giving him my cash.

It took a while before I got my coffee but as soon as I got it, I sat on the only available chair just beside the windows. As I was looking around, I gasped as I saw a guy with a dirty blonde hair with his back facing me. I immediately looked away and focused on my coffee.

After a few minutes, I see a black car pull up in front and a few seconds after, Riley and Toby went out. They were talking to someone inside but just when Riley and Toby turn around and walk towards the door, I saw him.

He went out of the driver's seat and walked towards Riley and Toby. I can see Toby biting his lip as he saw Connor catching up with them. They opened the door and I instantly looked down, afraid I might be seen by them.

I saw through my peripheral vision that Connor's the one ordering and Riley kept on looking around. To my surprise, however, just when Connor is about to finish ordering, Toby looked at my direction.

I waved my hand faintly, just so Toby could notice me and to not draw too much attention. Toby nodded and whispered something to Riley.

"So, where do you plan on going after Starbucks?" Hearing his voice just made my heart melt and shatter at the same time. I miss him, I miss talking to him and just hearing his voice makes me want to cry. I want to hug him tight, apologize for what I have done and to tell him to take me back.
