We arrived at the beach at 4:15pm and good thing there aren't really that much people. We find a spot, placed two mats down big enough for all of us and just stayed there, with the guys fixing their things while Bianca and I fixed the picnic basket filled with sandwiches and chips we got from our house.
"It's such a great day!" Thomas said, bringing out his phone and motioning us to take a picture. We took a few shots in Thomas' phone, then Riley's, Connor's and Bianca's.
"We'll go for a swim." Bianca said, pulling Connor's hand as well as Toby's. Braiden is busy trying to make a sand castle a few feet away from us while Thomas is getting a tan, leaving Riley and I alone in the mat together.
After a few minutes of silence, he spoke up. "How long is your internship in LA?" He asked, looking at me.
I look at him and squinted my eyes, trying to avoid the sun from obscuring my vision. "A month. I'll probably study medicine there as well, I don't really know." I said, bringing my knees close to my chest to hug them.
He nodded. "You don't seem to be a fan of it that much." He said, looking away from me and into the ocean.
I sighed but remained my eyes at him. "Well, I don't know. I want to become successful. But I kind of hoping to be inclined more in the arts field, you know? But I love medicine as well. It's just hard. My parents are both in the medical field so they expected me to be in it as well." I said, covering my eyes from the sun.
Riley must've noticed my struggle so he moved away and grabbed something from his left. "Here. It's Connor's." He said, handing me a pair of black sunglasses.
I gently pushed it away from me not wanting to use other people's things without their permission. "It's okay, I can manage."
He shook his head and smiled. "Take it. He can't use it anyway." He said, pointing the sunglasses towards Connor's direction. I looked at him and he's there in the waters, playing with Bianca, Toby and Braiden.
I shrugged and grabbed it from his hand. "Thanks." I said, putting it on immediately.
"See, now you can talk to me properly!" Riley said as I look at him, stretching out my legs. We paused for a while before he started talking again. "You shouldn't let your parents dictate your life, you know."
"It's not really dictating, it's more of.. Controlling." I said, as I look at Bianca who's walking towards us.
We stopped talking as she reached us, grabbing Riley and I's hands so we can follow her towards the water. "Thomas!" She shouted, motioning him to follow us.
Thomas waved his hand and decided to lay back down again. I walked towards him and pulled his hand, managing to lift him up despite his body being a thousand times larger than mine.
We all played in the water, splashing each other and pushing each other off. We did it for a while and decided we should head back to the mat since it's starting to get dark.
"Thanks, guys." I said when we are all drying ourselves.
Connor looked at me and smiled. "No, thank you!" He said, pointing at Bianca and I.
"No, I mean thanks for making my last day really fun." I said, looking at each one of them.
They all smiled at me while Bianca waved her hand. "Stop saying it's your last day! We'll get to see each other again!"
"No, I mean..." I was cut off by Thomas who's making a "shhh" noise.
I looked at him. "Let's just have fun!" He added.
When we were all finished we decided to go back to Bianca's house this time. We all agreed to spend the night together at her place and have a little house party for me. I asked my parents if I could and they said yes. The only condition is I have to be back at home by 9am, since my flight is at 1pm and I still have to fix my things.
