"Alright, as cute as this is I think it's getting a little ridiculous." Renestrae muttered in annoyance as she was steered towards what she didn't know. From the moment she had agreed to go on this impromptu picnic and told the girls she was leaving he had blindfolded her. What was worse she wasn't still wearing the damn this because she was playing along, she wouldn't have guessed it but Dageus was quite accomplished at knot tying and unfortunately she had never been very good at untying knots. That was why her knee high lace up boots never sported a double knot. She also carried a fondness for shoes that slipped on and ones that zipped.

"Just a little bit further." Dageus soft brogue sounded in her ear as he nudged her forward again.

She smiled slightly, despite her irritation. "You do realize that if this is just a clever rouse to push me off a cliff then I'm going to come back and haunt you for the rest of your natural life."

"Come now Lass, what kind of man would I be if I pushed ye when ye cannot see?"

" A haunted one obviously, or weren't you listening. Are you saying that you would push me if I could see?"

"Of course not Lass, I only jest."

Hmn, maybe he hung out at the Renaissance Faire because she knew for a fact that no one said jest anymore, hadn't for at least a century or more. It wasn't that she was complaining but it was another thing that she didn't hear outside of the Renaissance Faire. She could hear running water but nothing else, so she could really only guess as to their location.

She was just about to ask again if he planned on taking the blindfold off sometime this century when she felt him undoing it. Finally, she was so tired of seeing nothing that she was starting to w-

Her thought was caught off as the blindfold was whisked away and she took in her surroundings. In front of her was a deep pool and a picnic set up for two complete with wine but the breathtaking part was what was above them. Probably fifty feet above her was a cliff and a waterfall that fell into the deep pool. It was spectacular, breathtaking, beautiful, and she could not believe he had done this for her.

Ever since she was in jr. High Renestrae Frank had known who she was and she knew what people saw when they saw her. She was the nerdy brown eyed curly haired brunette who always had her nose in a book. In her small town the definition of beauty was blond hair, blue eyes and little to no brain. Renestrae was the complete antithesis to this. Who knew that all she had to do to find someone who would be interested in her was go to a different country.

"It's beautiful."

"It is but it doesn't hold a candle to ye Lass."

Okay so he was laying it on a little thick but she did not care. To know that someone wanted her, it was nice. Now she knew why Evelyn seemed to be addicted to this feeling.

She turned around to face him. "You're just saying that." She smiled and jumped back when he reached for her. "I bet you're just trying to seduce me." she teased.

"Do ye truly not see your beauty, Lass?" He asked as he reached for her again but she quickly spun out of reach, careful to stay away from the water. She did enjoy swimming but even though she felt like she could trust Dageus, with everything going on lately she wasn't about to actively seek out the water.

"Oh I see it, but others usually don't.

"Then they are blind."

For once the saying 'Flattery will get you nowhere' didn't make sense to her. She was now of the sound opinion that it would get you anywhere.

Off to her right she heard something moving in the bushes and turned her head to see what it was. That was when he pounced. In no time flat she found herself on her back with him looming over her.
