Evelyn had just finished preparing the table when she heard the distinct sound of car wheels on the stones of the driveway, signaling Renestrae's return. She ran to the door and threw it open in time to catch Dageus helping her friend from the drivers side of the car like a perfect gentleman.

Wait a minute, the drivers side?

"Ren you don't drive." She blurted out before she could stop herself.

Renestrae smiled as she walked towards her and smiled. "I know it's surprising but he insisted."

Evelyn laughed at that. "Well then of course you couldn't resist, it is your dream car after all." She almost smiled wider as Renestrae's cheeks turned bright red but she managed to control herself. Kali had been right, she knew all about how prideful Renestrae could be and she wasn't about to embarrass her in front of her date.

Renestrae laughed nervously. "Well I'm afraid that Dageus learned the hard way that I can't be behind the wheel without getting a little carried away."

Evelyn turned her gaze to the tall, dark haired man that was trying to date her friend. "Dageus, would you like to stay for dinner? Kali and I made plenty.

Evelyn watched and had to hold back a smile as Renestrae's eyes became as wide as dinner plates.

    "I wouldn't want to intrude."

"Oh nonsense." Evelyn said with a dismissive wave of her hand. "You're clearly Renestrae's new friend and any friend of Renestrae's is a friend of ours."

Evelyn watched as Renestrae and Dageus both shot each other confused glances, of course she noticed that it was Dageus who regained his composure first.

    "If ye're sure."

"Well of course we are, come on in."

Of course they had no more than entered the small house/church when Renestrae was attempting to pull Evelyn off to the side and apologizing to Dageus.

"If you'll excuse us." Renestrae said before ducking into the kitchen.

"What's up Ren?" Evelyn asked, innocently.

"What are you up to?" Renestrae asked, her hands going to her hips the second they were out of sight.

    "Me? Up to something?"

Renestrae's brown eyes narrowed into a glare. "Oh please, now who's the one that can't pull off the innocent 'I didn't do anything look.'" Renestrae accused.

"Don't fret, I just want to get to know your new beau." She teased in a tone she hoped was good natured. A tone that Renestrae returned with a glare.

"I have a mother, Evelyn. I don't need you stepping in."

"Oh your mother wouldn't be half as worried, and you know it."

    "So why are you-"

"Kali and I just want to meet him Ren, is that so bad?"

Evelyn watched as Renestrae thought about it and was relieved when she finally noticed the tension in her dark haired friend's body loosening.

"Alright I guess I don't see the harm in it."

It was at that moment that Kali came out of the laundry room that was attached to the kitchen. "Well that's a relief, because we made way too much food for the three of us."

Renestrae rolled her eyes. "You two are something else."

The four of them sat down at the table Evelyn and Kali had pulled from the kitchen and placed in the front area of the house, Dageus of course sat next to Renestrae.
