By the time that they got to the small hospital Evelyn was frantic, honestly she'd much rather deal with Hulk Ren, than this. She couldn't believe she shot her best friend, if Ren even wanted her as a friend when she woke up.

They had to help Ren out of the car and into the hospital the arrow sticking out of her shoulder a horrible reminder of what she'd done that made Evelyn sick. She should have waited until after she saw who was coming through the door. Damn it, if she had just listened and not tried to be a hero like-

"Miss Dalamasso?"

Evelyn turned around to see Constables Camshron and O'Cain walking towards her. As always Constable Dean looked none too happy. She cast a quick glance at Kaloria but Kali didn't so much as look her way. Damn, even the mediator of the group wasn't going to come to her aid.

"Yes Constables?" she asked politely, though she knew why they were here. Of course she knew, there was no way that doctor couldn't report this. Sure, it wasn't a gun shot wound, but they didn't have many guns in this country now did they? Regardless it still looked like attempted murder and there were enough bodies appearing all over Fearchar to make this look suspicious.

"Miss Dalamasso were you the one to shoot the arrow currently lodged in Miss Frank's shoulder?" Constable O'Cain asked.

"Are you kidding me, boy? The Lass isn't going to answer tha' with the truth." Constable Dean sneered. "They always lie."

"Yes it is, but it was an accident." Evelyn replied, she had an idea were this might end up and it didn't look good for her. Although she had to admit she agreed with Renestrae Officer Dean was creepy and mean and there was no way she ever wanted to be in a room alone with him.

"So you're admitting to shooting yer friend? Care to tell us how this accident occurred?" Constable O'Cain asked.

"I..." she wanted to curse as her eyes shifted on their own accord, it was a sure sign that she was guilty, and she was of shooting her friend, but it really was an accident just not a believable one. "I can't say."

"Miss Dalamasso," Constable O'Cain said sternly while Officer Dean leered at her, seeing smugly satisfied that at least one of them would be in custody soon. "if ye do not tell us what happened then by the evidence I must place ye in custody."

Evelyn sighed. "You wouldn't believe me even if I told you, and the only two people that might are either getting the arrow out of her shoulder or so mad at me that she won't even look at me!" She said it loudly, loud enough for Kaloria to hear hopefully.

Constable O'Cain crossed his arms in front of his chest. "I think ye'll find that I can be very open minded, lass. Now what happened?"

She smiled. "It's really quite simple, Constable. When the door opened I thought it was a Kelpie coming through not Renestrae."

Officer Camshron laughed, Officer O'Cain was not amused.

"A Kelpie lass? Ye expect me to believe that ye thought it was a children's fairy tale monster that was coming through the door?"

"I know it's crazy-"

"Aye, it's a crazy lie." Constable Dean sneered.

"I know it's crazy, but it's the truth." Evelyn said loudly. She hoped Kali was listening, she was depending on Kali telling Ren when she was done with the doctor.

"I'm sorry about this Lass," Constable O'Cain said as he pulled a pair of handcuffs out of his pocket. "but I'm going to have to place ye under arrest for the attempted murder of Renestrae Frank. Ye do not have to say anything, but anything ye do say may be noted in evidence."

Evelyn did not resist as Constable O'Cain forced her hands behind her back clicked the handcuffs around her wrist.

"No! You can't do that." Kaloria exclaimed, rushing over to them.

"By her own admission , she shot yer friend." Gordan O'Cain said sternly. "There's nothing I can do lass, my hands are tied."

Evelyn smiled as Kaloria looked desperately between her and the officers.

"Ev, tell them, tell them it was an accident, tell them you didn't see what you just said that you did." Kaloria pleaded.

"It'll be fine Kali."

"No! This is crazy, it's not like you to believe in this kind of thing. Why are you saying these things, Evelyn!"

Evelyn looked into Kaloria's amber eyes and put as much seriousness into her voice as she could. She knew Ren would believe her because Kali was right, this wasn't like her. Unlike Renestrae and Kaloria she was firmly grounded in reality and had never thought about things that didn't exist. If she said something about impossible things like that, then it meant that she saw something she couldn't explain away with firm, sound logic.

Ren would believe her because she wasn't fanciful and never had been.
