Chapter 6

Containment

Harry looked up at her with a wide eyes. Like almost as big as hers' were naturally. He took a shallow breath, Lie. Lie. Lie. Wait, I can't lie to her; I love her. You have to Harry, you'll lose it all. A deep internal battle raged on behind those bright green eyes, and finally his thick voice broke the silence. "I just ran by the police station to check on your car and everything. Then I hit the bookstore and got you a good book, so you would have something to do around here." He explained his day, even though it was a lie. He did however have a new edition of her favorite books, so that should get her to buy into it. "What book did you get me?" Alicia asked, being so sweet and gullible. "The Fault in Our Stars and A Walk To Remember." He answers slickly, as if he didn't know those were her all time favorite books. "You! I love you! Those are my favorite books! Thank you. Thank you." Alicia said all hastily and excited she wanted to delve right into those books.

I love you!

Rang over and over in Harry's mind. He could barely keep himself in check. His limbs all felt awkward and out of sorts. He flailed his arms around for a moment, before finally brushing them through his hair. "I-I... they are in the living room, on the book shelf. I'll get them after dinner." He confirmed, and went back to his food.

Once Harry and Alicia both had finished their meals, and everything was put back in its place Harry had went to retrieve the books. He had read, 'The Fault In Our Stars' before but you couldn't tell that from the pages. He carried both hardback books in one large hand. Harry kept his gaze down cast as he re-entered the kitchen, and smacked right into Alicia, who seemed to be exiting. Her frail body bounced of his and she stumbled backwards, only to have a muscular arm secured around her within a matter of seconds. Harry's skin pulled taunt over his muscles as his bicep contracted to not only catch her, but to also to pull her into his chest. His body cloaking hers'. She inhaled sharply, and let him hold her close. There was that masculine scent she loved, the heat radiating off of him. She felt her heart race increase for the thousandth time. The top of his chest was exposed, since he wore his shirt half unbuttoned. She pressed her cheek to his hot skin, hearing his heart thump rhythmically.

Harry felt his face contort into some absolute look of bliss, and slyly dropped the books down on the granite counter-top, so his other arm could ensue the first. His mind ran haywire and once again he found himself out of control. Harry used one of his hands and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. Then the pad of his fingertip stroked down her jawline.

Leaving Alicia to shudder under his affectionate touch. His other hand was caressing the skin of her tummy. She looked up at him wanting desperately for him to kiss her. Alicia gave him all the signs; biting her lips and staring at his own plump set out lips. But despite her silent begging, he didn't move a muscle.

Instead, he continued to let his finger trace her every outline. His green eyes pooled with lust and desire, but his body language showed something else. Something tame. Harry had managed to re-grip the reigns on himself before he did something too drastic. His determination to stick to his game-plan, outweighed his physical desires and needs. This kiss would be so much more if he waited, until she not only wanted him, but actually needed him.

Alicia felt cold when Harry rubbed his nose against her cheek and then slid his hands off of her. Her body was still trembling from the need and disappointment she felt. She couldn't believe herself, but she had to admit that she wanted Harry. She was infatuated with him, and she couldn't believe he had denied her the one thing she wanted the most. He had rejected her, but not harshly and that piqued her interest. He hadn't pushed her away from him or looked down upon her with disgust. Rather, he had given her a small yet intimate butterfly kiss and rub of his nose.

Harry could tell she was shocked and disappointed, but he still read the rest of her emotions. He knew this was working in favor, just as he had planned. It would be a lie to say though that he hadn't wanted to just take her and kiss her right then and there, hell, he would've loved to just fuck the hell out of her for what she was doing to his body. But he had to let it go and look forward to what laid inevitably ahead.

Everything was falling into place, according to his long elaborate plans.

"Here, love." He rasped and picked up the books once again. Alicia was still leaned up against his chest, and there wasn't an inch of space between their bodies. Harry chose to push past that, not to let himself falter. He offered the books to her with a charming grin. "T-thank you. I-I love them." She stammered, obviously still in a daze. "Oh, Ali. Lets go sit in the living room. Watch a flick or something, yeah?" He offered, and placed a hand on her hip. He didn't want to come off as if he didn't want her. Because god fucking knows he wants her. His thumb stroked her bare porcelain like skin gently, as he awaited her answer. "Sure, we can watch whatever you want." She complied with a peaceful sigh. He felt his smile widen when he realized his touch soothed her. "You like the Notebook?" Harry offered, knowing all to well of her love for sappy romantics.
